On November 24th, 2019, it was announced the horrible news that Goo Hara had passed away at the young age of 28.

Since it’s the first anniversary, I wanted to make another post as I’ve been thinking about her a lot lately. Even more videos can be found from the original post here.

As always, please share your favorite memories of Hara!

“How About Me”

“Choco Chip Cookie” at Karasia 4th Japan Tour (with fellow Kara member Seungyeon filling in the rap)

Stage Mix of Hara in “Step”

“Secret Love”

Hara’s MV Focus from Japanese Releases

Encore Fancam

“Mamma Mia” Fancams

“Mister” Compilation

I also strongly recommend @joongkihxnts page as they have tons of gifs of Hara, it’s nice seeing moments in time captured like this.

What’s the most painful is when I look for videos and photos, I tend to find the same content over and over. A lot of it is because KARA was from a different generation so they didn’t have everything recorded in high definition like groups today but just it wasn’t as organized on YouTube back then. But it really hurts knowing this is it, this is all I have of her to remember her :(

Goo Hara, the moment I saw you in “Honey” back in 2009, you instantly became my favorite. I wanted to learn so much about you! As I became a fan, I wanted the best for you. You deserved so much better, Hara.

Goo Hara, thank you for everything. I will never forget you. I hope you’re at peace, I really do.

RIP, charismatic queen. She tried so hard to keep being here in this world, but she was way too good for it.

Hara wasn't my bias in KARA but she always seemed like a sweet person to me, and she was a great performer!
She caught my eyes the most during Mamma Mia! I love the curly hair she had in the music video's dance scenes, she looked fantastic. It's also one of my favourite KARA song (hard competition though, they have GREAT songs) so I've replayed this one a lot and might be struck by bias for this song lol.

I'll always be extra pissed off that KARA is one of those 2nd gen girl groups that seem "forgotten" now. They were so popular in SK and then in Japan, they were THE face of Kpop's Hallyu wave in 2010/2011. They have so many amazing songs - Pandora, Damaged Lady (the whole Full Bloom album is amazing), Lupin, fucking STEP omg what a jam. I love KARA if that isn't clear XD

I've been crying since I saw the post. I can't believe it's been a year already. Hara and Sulli are dearly missed :(

I'm going to replay KARA's discography tonight <3

Step is still the greatest kpop cardio anthem lmao
Also the music video was just SO colorful and the choreo iconic - Hara's body wave in the prechorus! - what an exciting time!

yesss!! their choreo in general was just so fun and good, i remember being obsessed with damaged lady and that move where they take their pretend ring off their finger?? so good!

She really rocked their more mature, glittery concepts. She was so charismatic during the Lupin stages for example!

I don’t sign in too often but needed to for this post.
Losing two biases in a short amount of time crushed me, especially knowing how close Sulli and Hara were. Just my luck, the two I loved.

I got made fun of way back in the day for having Hara as my favorite. Some people in old forums would say that she was pretty useless, just a visual, etc. however, her stage presence and charisma were unstoppable. She reminded me so much of my Jpop love Namie Amuro in terms of beauty and style that I instantly made her a fave. She deserved better here on earth, I am so sorry Hara that people were against you and were beyond misogynistic.
She was one of my muses and I to be honest haven’t watched many if any old music videos because it hurts to know someone on that stage no longer is alive.

Love you forever Alien Goo ❤️ I hope you and sweet goblin Sulli are together having chats and being besties.

i'm not in the right emotional state atm to engage with this post properly but kara are one of my all time fav groups and she was my bias. it's hard to believe it's been a year, it's heartbreaking knowing what she went through but i'll always be grateful for how much joy she brought me as her fan.

I know it's been a year but it isn't any easier .....

Can't say much other than that I hope Hara is resting well. No more pain.

thank you so much OP, i really appreciate this

one of my all time favorite moments of goo hara is this performance where she got frustrated by the confetti;

i hope she's doing well wherever she is, i lit a candle for her this morning and another one just now before i even saw this post. i miss her very much.

In the same vein, I remember her performing this song and literally saying, "ah...this is tiring" when they march in a circle towards the end. I can never find that live performance for the life me now, but it was so funny

at least, we know she didn't lip sync ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

14 year old me wanted to be Hara so!! Bad!! I bought a flat iron specifically because I wanted my hair to be as straight as hers, haha. It took 11 years, but I think I finally figured it out now.

I hope she's well, wherever she is.

Thank you OP for this post to celebrate her life that may not be perfect and made her struggle but its a life that definitely brought smiles to many people.

My first favorite gg in kpop is KARA =) I often show their MVs to friends who recently became kpop fans and they love them!

Invincible Youth. I always remember Invincible Youth and Hara and the girls.

That’s for the post OP. Hara was such a sweet bright soul who was gone too soon. I’m grateful for all she shared with the world while she was here. May she continue to Rest In Peace

Can’t believe it’s been a year. The world is a lesser place without her. I’ve always liked her. She was/is so charismatic. I hope she’s doing well wherever she is. I like to imagine that she and Sulli are hanging out somewhere together.

It feels so surreal that it's already been a year. I think I will always feel saddened over her death because she truly did not deserve to go through all that she did. I'm furious that she won't get the justice she deserves either. I just hope that she's in a better place now, wherever that is. Sleep well Hara.

She was taken from us. And that still hurts and stings. But my god, I hope with all my might that she is at peace and happy, and absolutely blissful. She was such a source of light. Continue to Rest in peace, Hara. ♥

I was never into Kara but my first exposure to her was City Hunter, and then all the times she was on Running Man esp in one of my favorite episodes the 80s/90s throwback. She had such a fun and bubbly but down to earth personality, there was just something so special about her. And even when she did a brief guest appearance in Roommate for Youngji she really touched my heart. She seemed so genuine, such a lovely human being.

That Step stage mix is amazing.

The first thing I thought when I saw this post was "I can't believe it's already been a year". Time has passed so quickly and it still doesn't seem like she got justice.

OP I hope you can take comfort in your own memories.

It’s still hard to believe sometimes that she’s gone. And the atrocity that is happening even after she’s gone.

I really liked that she didn’t take herself too seriously even though she was a visual. And being honest about her surgery (eyelid I think?), which not many idols are open to talk about. Her vocals may be nothing to shout about but her hustle I appreciate
