I can't believe they haven't even debuted officially and they were already invited to the Kohaku broadcast. I had read that Nizi Project was really popular in Japan but I had no idea it was THAT popular!
I’m really surprised that they’re already off to a great start, I figured they’d have a successful debut since JYPE does well in Japan but wow I wasn’t expecting this! I knew something big was coming when Make You Happy had 170 million streams already, I was like when did that happen!? They already have some loyal streamers.
I do hope some fans, like with aespa, understand why these new groups are already taking off because of reputation and influence of their company, but for a lot of these kids they won’t realize this till later

I hope so too :S from my very limited social media exposure to both of their fandoms, I feel like NiziU fans are way more chill than aespa fans (so far). My theory is bc aespa are 100% a KPop group whereas NiziU, even though they're produced by JYPE, are a JPop group with all Japanese members whose main target is Japan, and I definitely believe fans have different expectations for a JPop group than they do for a KPop one. Also, most of the NiziU members had no professional prior training at all, so they kinda have the AKB vibe where fans look forward to their growth on stage.
apparently their pre-debut reality show did well in japan and one of those popular morning (?) shows even had a regular segment dedicated to reacting to it + the jyp memes went kind of viral. i watched it recently and honestly i found it really enjoyable, unlike some survival shows it had a good pace and did a very good job introducing each one of the girls and their personality and making it easy to get attached to them.
