sungchan is the rapper of the group? i thought he's the vocalist. i reaaaaally like the black outfit, a perfect reminiscent of 90's boyband outfit. i can't remember if i saw it here or on twitter but it's kinda funny that their song + concept is 90's and yet they weren't even born yet in the 90's.
I like it, but I hate myself cause songwise I like maw better. I'll probably end up loving it once I see the live performances.
At least the mv is better than maw, and the concept is cute. Styling wise, ten got the short end of the stick, but I still appreciate his center time and his vocals.

yup. kpop groups who tour already have packed schedules mark's is 3x that with different levels of responsibilities. like exo had one year where some members did 3 different tours/shows + group and subunit releases + solo work and they all looked half dead by the time end of year shows came around. add to that most of them are still in school to some degree.
it's part of why I'll defend him regardless of what people think of his rapping. idt he has many people advocating for him in meaningful ways either. knowing enough about his personality and religious upbringing he'll be put in a hospital before he asks for a break.
I'd say he's making the most out of any NCT member for sure but from what I know about royalties and how they work in SK he's probably only seeing real money (meaning like a years salary for most people every quarter, he's still making more money than the average person) now that they're breaking 1MIllion. SM letting him in on writing sessions from debut helped for sure.
I really wonder how their salary works. Because it's not like most of them do variety shows or have a lot of sponsorships and even with touring, most haven't been able to do that this year (besides the online ones but who knows how that's set-up).

So even if they don't have trainee debt they automatically debut with debt that covered the cost of their debut, which a group of NCTs size and concept probably sits in the 1-3million range and they'll subsequently take on the costs of anything put out for the group after that too until they start making more than they cost. but they have 0 say in what expenses are spent on them or how big their concepts are.
so it's likely at this point for like the dream members and non-key point 127/wayv members that they making maybe 75-100K/year (possibly less or more since I don't have a good gauge of everything they're doing) but they also have their living/food/medical expenses covered on top of that by the company (which is really them paying for since it's added to their debt load). the new members idk. they might actually have less debt because they're coming in when the groups already broken even.

Eh it's okay to me. I'll have to give it another listen. Whenever rappers make up like 5/8, of the people in a unit it's makes me apprehensive. And yet at the same time I feel like most of them were forgetable with their screentime. Like winwin, jeno, yangyang, jisung, there were glimpses of them. I only remember Sungchan being there because he had a rap center. We love a 90s concept where only 3 of them were around then.

yeah problem with sm (and any other kpop company for that matter) that they assign the member with mediocre voice + mediocre dance ability as the rapper and that results in subpar rapper.
Negl, as a 90s kid, I like it a lot! I was prepared to hate it after seeing the concept (because it's too damn straight lol) but it's definitely better than the other new songs on Resonance pt. 2 (which was a huge disappointment to me ...).
Ten really got to shine in the song and my love and admiration for him and his talents grows day by day! I feel bad for Win Win and Yang Yang tho, they barely got anything in the song, what was the point of them even being in it ...

Empathy era truly was superior. I do really like having the member interactions with the 2020 promotions but music wise i feel let down whereas i felt like Empathy era songs were all good.
Yep, I 100% agree with you! Behind the scenes content with all of them interacting was great, I especially loved Haechan and Taeil's Sun and Moon but the music was a real letdown for me. I just re-listened to Empathy and man, there isn't a single bad song on that album. I even liked Black on Black this time around lol.

This hit me directly in the childhood!!! I love it! I see them pandering to the late '80s/early 90's kids in the fan base! I saw some people comparing it to UP10TION White Night but that video actually had a story lol. I think the hockey concept is cute but I don't like the video game segments at all (it doesn't look great and it wasn't needed).
I actually wasn't expecting much after the teaser but I really love this.

I knew I was gonna love this song from the snippets and I was right. I love it! It's an all around solid bop. I prefer it to Make a Wish by far. The line distribution and screen time is nothing to write home about - this song is mostly Ten, Haechan and Mark. I was surprised that they had Jeno and Yangyang sing instead of rap. Winwin as usually barely gets any lines. At least Sungchan got a decent verse for his debut song.
