I'm seriously checking out the Venus XL Eyeshadow Palette (as in I bought the damn thing) but also the new Huda palette. Thing is, I haven't always heard the best things about Huda beauty so I'm not sold yet

i know i have 3 huda beauty palettes but i probably don't play with them as much as i should so it's hard to speak about quality..... i've mainly used desert dusk and i think the mattes are pretty dry. my BFF has the new nude palette and she likes it - seems like it performs okay. i want to get the 9-pan nude obsessions palettes in medium and rich if they go on sale eventually.
it just really offends me that with the new nude palette you get two useless (to me) shades - the chunky glitter and the concealer - and you get that weird eye gloss with the naughty nudes palette. i don't like to buy palettes with shades/pans i will never use. also there's a LOT of repetition of shades between all of these nude palettes - the 9-pans and the larger ones.
I was eyeing the nude obsessions in medium too (the color speak to me) but I have colourpoo whatever palette and the color story is pretty similar imo I'm exited about the venus palette (less so about the potential taxes)
ahhh i see what you mean - those are pretty similar. i also have etude house maple road which is pretty similar just less pink. i'm trash for all pink/red/orange eyeshadow lol.
you've inspired me to show my venus XL some love. i often don't pull out my huge palettes. i hope you like it and i hope you don't get dinged by taxes!!
Omg well power to you! I try to make up for my shoddy skills by using fancy brushes lol. Also my eyes are too small And my nails are too long for my fingers to work
Just lurking mostly - covid has kicked my mental health/productivity in the teeth, so the only place I've been super active in posting anything is IG stories :|
Still nice seeing the familiar faces on here though!! and yes sometimes I take my products out just to look at them lmao it's great (especially since I don't leave the house anymore)
Weirdly enough I'm been experimenting more with makeup since we're back in lockdown a I have more time b it's okay if I fuck up, it's just me, my partner and mini me XD
I find having a routine helps me deal with covid (also not gonna lie having a kid basically is a constant reminder to "be as ok as can be" if that makes sense) I hope you can find a routine or hobbies to help you go through this as best as possible. It's really not a good sitation and it's really taking a toll on everyone's mental health We're not build for that
OMG I thought it would be the same for me re: makeup but I've actually been drawing a lot more instead! which I'm not necessarily sad about because that relates to my career directly so it works out hahaha
totally makes sense that a kid would keep you "accountable" in a sense! My boyfriend that I live with was able to keep his job (I lost mine) so I've been using his routine to kind of maintain my own. Freelance work has fortunately been quite good to me this year, so I've managed to stay afloat, but it's definitely a daunting experience to try to navigate!
I'm glad to hear you've been keeping up with makeup though - I just discovered Everglow's La Di Da MV (very late to the party) and o m g I want to recreate everything
