I remember when I stumbled upon this queen. It was before Harry Potter Goblet of Fire movie came out and I was googling "Cho Chang" so see if they had posted who was the actress playing her in the movie. For some reason BoA's photo popped up and it was some website saying something like "Could Korean Singer BoA be the perfect Cho Chang?" Or something like that.

I thought she was so beautiful that I saved quite a few images and was disappointed she wasn't picked for Cho.

Woah this is the exact same way I found out about her (through Harry Potter casting rumors). I looked her up, saw her Atlantis Princess mv, and fell in love.

I first heard about BoA in 2009 when she was trying to break into the US... I have zero memory of how I actually stumbled upon that but I actually ended buying her english album (which I actually still genuinely enjoy, even if it is a bunch of Britney rejects lol). I downloaded some of her music, but nothing really stuck except for this Japanese track (still one of my fav BoA songs)



Ultimately I didn't become an actual fan until 2015 when I was lurking this post on ONTD (https://ohnotheydidnt.livejournal.com/93748184.html) at the beginning of 2015, someone posted Eat You Up and I was like "omg I remember this!"



And down the rabbit hole I went lol

20 years is an incredible achievement and I'll always look forward to to her releases

I don't remember my first BoA song memories, but i have random memories of her early years lol. I remember watching a tv documentary (i think it was mbc?) of her in Japan. I remember her eating curry and rice and she had a hurt ankle and she was so little. And i remember her on Kohaku Uta Gassen. I just remember being like "oh, it's boa!" lol.

I LOVED all the pictures that her Twitter account has been posting for the past week. So many memories!

Fun Fact: The first BoA album I bought was Hurricane Venus *O* I love both HV and C&P but I prefer the MV and styling for C&P. I love all of the songs on the HV album, especially Implode because it is so beautiful and gets me in the feels every time! Kim Jongwan's vocals being featured on it is just another plus because I love Nell! :3

Also, BoA's English album still slaps - I am forever bopping to Eat You Up and Energetic on the regular.

Boa was the first Kpop idol I have encountered, the first Kpop idol I stanned! So much memories, I still know the dance moves for Moto and My Name. I remember watching her live performance for Moto so many times back in high school.

i remember kinda liking boa when she came out with her english album but my jpop brain wasn’t checking her out fully cause she went head to head with utada who released her second english album

anyway childish behavior aside, i started downloading her albums when she came back to korea with HV and C&P and loooving the concepts

after that it’s been kinda hit or miss with the comebacks but i still enjoy a lot of her songs (with camo and eien being my favs)

Gosh it feels like I've been listening to BoA since forever. I first found her music when I was maybe 2nd or 3rd year of high school. I must've found a few of her Korean songs like "Atlantis Princess" and then "Every Heart" since I was a big anime fan back then. And in college I went on the BoAjjang forum all the dang time to try to download videos (this was 1-2 years before YouTube so it took forever to download) -- that's how I found DBSK too actually.

Maybe I didn't always stay current on her stuff, but I'd say I've always been a fan.
