Woori Actors has responded to the reports of a police investigation into former AOA member Mina’s allegations of bullying.

On August 13, JoongAng Ilbo reported that someone had sent in a request for investigation to the Seoul Gangnam Police Station. According to the report, an unnamed person sent in a civil complaint to a public sinmungo (a place for citizens to voice complaints to the government) on August 9, which was then forwarded to the Gangnam Police Station. The request asked for a complete investigation into Mina’s statement that she was bullied during her time in AOA.

However, the police investigation will not be taking place. Mina’s agency stated to DongA.com, “It is true that we received a call from the police. After we discussed it with Mina, we decided to refuse the investigation. She is still in a fragile psychological state. People online who do these things are not giving her strength, but rather making it worse. We earnestly ask that people stop.”

The agency reaffirmed to OSEN, “We asked [the police] not to investigate. We told them that she has no intention of reporting and does not want anything related to an investigation.”

In July, Mina shared a series of posts in which she wrote that she had been bullied by her former member Jimin for several years. Jimin went on to share a written apology, which Mina responded to. Jimin later left the group. Since then, Mina has talked about her relationship with the other AOA members and her continued frustrations as she tries to receive a sincere apology from AOA members and FNC Entertainment.

In early August, Mina posted on Instagram with a photo of her cut wrist and a concerning message. Afterwards, her current agency Woori Actors shared that she was being treated at a hospital. Mina wrote an apology after her discharge from the hospital and deleted her Instagram account to focus on her treatment.

She literally just wants a sincere apology but she isn't going to ever get that because Jimin is in no way remorseful :/

i didn't realise she'd deleted her instagram. i hope that's a benefit. i know we always say that idols who are having a hard time should stay off social media but it really helped her get what happened to her noticed and out there. i wonder if fnc would have even engaged with her if it hadn't been made public.

Honestly I totally understand her not wanting to open an investigation. And fuck whoever tried to take that decision out of her hands or force her into it. Considering how cruel and callous Jimin's little minions have been so far, it feels awful to even consider putting even more of yourself and your wounds out there for the world to pick at. Especially since the people who're even now lodged up Jimin's ass would probably STILL blame Mina for it.

I was recently thinking abt how every time an idol commits suicide there's this huge act of people rallying against online hate, and how the person who died Wasn't So Bad After All (even tho those same people bullied those idols to the very last minute). Like, NOW there is the chance for these shitheads to do the right thing and not attack someone who's already been hurt, and what do they do? Spit out the usual toxic BS.

Genuinely can't stand Jimin or anyone who sympathizes with the shit she's done.

well-meaning people can do a lot of damage without meaning to. i'm still torn over the reasoning of them taking action, and wonder how young the fan is. Probably pretty young because that logic is shaky at best.

but at least it's a comfort (hopefully) that it came from a good place, and I'm glad that the agency specifically asked ppl to stop doing that.

My guess is that the person who wanted the investigation wants Jimin (and maybe FNC?) to be criminally brought to justice. That's the only thing I can think of. but I don't trust the legal system and it sounds like Mina feels the same.
