Numerous online users are calling on Seolhyun of K-pop girl group AOA to quit her role in tvN's upcoming drama "Day and Night" following her band's bullying scandal, but the drama's crew revealed Monday she would not step down.

"The filming has been taking place as scheduled," a crew member was quoted as saying. "Seolhyun will not be removed."

On July 3, AOA's former member Mina, who left the group in 2019, accused the bands' ex-leader Jimin of bullying her for years while she was part of the group between 2012 and 2019.

Jimin apologized and quit the act, but on Saturday, Mina called out Jimin, Seolhyun and Han Sung-ho ― CEO of FNC Entertainment that represents AOA ― on her Instagram and said words could not describe how filthy the three were. She has insisted Seolhyun and Han had turned a blind eye when she was suffering.

Mina also posted a photo showing her injured wrist with a message hinting at suicide.

"I want to go to a place where I can be happy ― I am feeling so much pain here. Do not even come to my funeral even if I die. I will harass you after my death," the message read.

Mina's agency Woori Actors said Sunday that her injuries were not life-threatening and that she had been taken to hospital. FNC apologized on Sunday and said, "We sincerely hope Kwon recovers her health as soon as possible. We will strive to seek an amicable settlement with her."

Nevertheless, people are criticizing Seolhyun for being a "bystander," calling on the drama production team to remove her.

"Day and Night" follows a group of people who try to unlock the secret of a mysterious event that occurred 26 years ago. Seolhyun plays a police officer in the soap opera.

Seolhyun debuted as a member of AOA in 2012 with the album "Angels' Story." The group had a series of hits including "Miniskirt" (2014) and "Short Hair" (2014).

How charitable of her

after this whole thing I really don't think I feel good about supporting Seolhyun, especially after Mina explicitly name-dropped her. Seems to me she was far more than just a clueless bystander... seeing as how Jimin was her best friend.

Kpop reddit is mind-numbingly obtuse as per usual. I saw a comment that said along the lines of 'Mina's sick!!! She has no idea what she's saying!!! We shouldn't rag on Seolhyun uwu'. Gross.

I've seen a disturbing number of people (especially the deluded side of the AOA fandom) doing mental gymnastics to invalidate Mina's experience and accuse of her lying, ruining the group for selfish reasons etc. They clearly care more about AOA's reputation than Mina's own health, it's really yikes.

It never ceases to disgust me how far people will go to defend their faves in situations that show just how fucked up they are as a person. People really are trying to invalidate Mina's experience just so that they can 'protect' the rest of AOA - well, mainly Seolhyun and Jimin anyways. Fans continue to show their asses as usual on matters like this. If the group was even worthy of this amount of support in the first place - 1) this matter wouldn't have happened and 2) even if it did, it wouldn't have gone on so long. Accept that your fave is trash, but don't try to spin it like they're innocent. If you still want to support your trash fave after all of that, you're free to do so but not at the cost of attacking the person who accused your fave in the first place with good reason. You really have to be a cold hearted or delusional person to see what Mina is going through and still choose to go after her when she's the victim.

how ironic that she's playing a cop...

seolhyun was my ult for the longest time but i don't think i can support her unless there's some kind of clarification. i was surprised that mina named her when she previously wasn't calling out any members except jimin. i know seolhyun and jimin are/were very close, but being the best friend of an abuser can be a dangerous situation in itself... but that doesn't absolve her of all responsibility.

This is nagl for her, and might cost her her future if she doesn’t do this. We don’t know how involved she was with the Jimin/Mina stuff but the fact that she was explicitly called out by Mina tells me she wasn’t completely innocent.

On a sort of separate note, did anyone see the tweet screenshotting Jimin’s IG account and the fact that she’s following the “we trust you shin jimin” hashtag? It’s honestly terrifying how this woman has no remorse.

I pretty much laughed out of horror when I saw that screenshot. I can't believe she still has fans.

mina deleted her instagram account so that will prevent new accusations in the near future....

Tbh, whether she's in it or not won't keep me from watching it. Sounds interesting.

It might be too far into the filming to remove and replace her, so I can't fault the team for not removing her. However, this is nagl for Seolhyun, because if she supported Jimin bullying Mina, then I can't see myself supporting her. There is no way she can be innocent in this whole mess especially with how close she is to Jimin.
