I love this! I have never got into Gfriend but this is gorgeous. It’s so nostalgic and sounds like the Jpop/anime soundtracks of my youth. Every track is 👌
i love everything about this. the apple stage is amazing and they obviously love it, I haven't seen Eunha this enthusiastic in a while, she's nailing it.
my favourite songs are apple, eye of the storm, room full of mirrors (that's my favourite one!) and stairs in the north. it's a great album.
It's been a long time since I enjoyed a Gfriend release this much, from start to finish! It's their sound still but developed and thus sounding fresh. I love Apple, Eye of the Storm (those 8bit and drum and bass touches are a+) and Creme Brulee most.
Ooh, i love SOTS but I personally wouldn’t go that far lol. This EP overall is suuuper solid but I still think Labyrinth was their most cohesive yet, while my favourites are still Sunny Summer and The Awakening.
wait, really?? I mean I loved Labyrinth (Eclipse is my favourite song of them) but I just feel like ALL the songs in SOTS are so good, not a single skip song. While I really like their old stuff, like Seasons of Glass (Neverland is just a masterpiece), I do find SOTS to be more diverse.
It comes down to personal preference obviously! But yeah, I think Labyrinth as a whole is stronger. Stairs in the North is the only track from SOTS that I’m meh about which bumps down its standing imo, whereas every b-side on Labyrinth is stellar. The ballads have so much impact.
I love the album, i think its my favorite of theirs!!! There is definitely a shift towards a more mature sound, even in their voices i wanna say. Im digging it a lot. Apple sounds so much better on spotify, or maybe its because i wasn't distracted by the mv.
I ADORE Creme brûlée, Room of Mirrors, and Tarot Cards. Creme brûlée especially has been on repeat. Stairs in the North is a nice enough ballad but I could take it or leave it tbh.
Overall, this was a great EP showcasing their growth as artists! I’m so proud.

"Eye of the Storm", "room full of mirrors" & "Tarot cards" are such anime opening/ending
