Big Bang Seungri's military court trial for eight charges including arranging prostitution will be held by the Ground Operations Command.

According to army officials and other sources, Seungri's case has been assigned to the Seoul Central District Court's Criminal Agreement Department. After Seungri completed his basic military training, accordingly, the 26th Criminal Department of the South Central District Court transferred the trial to the General Military Court of the Fifth Corps Command on May 15th.

The General Military Court of the Fifth Corps Command however did not directly take charge of the trial but transferred the case back to the General Military Court of the Ground Operations Command who filed the case on June 23rd.

The exact reason for the transfer is unknown, but the move is said to be taken in consideration of the gravity of the issue. The move is seen as intended to conduct trials at higher-level units and deal with them in greater depth.

The Ground Operations Command will conduct trial against Seungri for eight charges that include arranging prostitution and overseas gambling.

Why are the military courts handling this? He did his dirty deeds while a civilian. Shouldn't he only be tried in the military courts if he committed his crimes while a member of the military? Is this the normal course of action or is this celebrity special treatment?

Nobody knows. His stans are trying to convince us it's a Korean law thing, but even Koreans are wondering why his case has been shifted to military court. My guess is that his handlers want to save his ass at whatever cost, and doing it in via military court is easier with all the secrecy.

I guess it's good to know I'm not the only one baffled by this.
So it's the same old sweep it under the rug type thing, except with the help of the military instead of the police. I still can't understand why the military would wanna touch this with a 10 foot pole. They benefit in no way by taking him on. It just comes off as more special treatment for celebs. They should just let the civilian courts handle him and then let him complete his service by scrubing the toilets with his toothbrush.

From everything that went on it seems that he has some very powerful people backing him up, therefore I think they ordered to take his case rather than were convinced. But that's just my cynical mind.

Or there are higher profile people who are involved that haven't been outed and it's really those people being protected and not this douchebag. And to protect those people they gotta protect him.

My cousin might be more cynical. The moment the military took him on she became convinced he is South Korean version of Jeffrey Epstein. She swears his club is his version of Epstein's plane and island.
