i was shocked when i saw there's a 7 year gap, but then i remembered that it actually happened a few times already in girl groups (2ne1, girl's day). i think it's weirder now because i'm the age of the older one :P
Mr. Mr. is in my least favorite SNSD title track category, it ranks above RDR and Lionheart though at least. They all have elements I like but I listen to them the least for SNSD. But this video actually made me like Mr. Mr. so much more, thanks GWSN haha
The two best things about Mr.Mr were the styling (because soshi in suits is such a look) and the lack of tragic hair (everyone had long fabulous hair). I never really cared much for the inclusion of male dancers but it makes the era iconic because I'm pretty sure that it was the first and last time they danced with guys for a title track. I will admit that the vocal slayage in the climax always hits me in the feels and has me trying to belt lmao XD It's not my least fave soshi track but it's certainly one of my fave concepts.
This lighting for this performance was kinda dark and the black suits was not helping them stand out more O_O Still I appreciate it for what it is, you go girlies! \o/
I feel like I’m in the minority with my love for Mr Mr! It was a great era before things went to shit lmao but the styling was immaculate and the girls looked amazing. I love seeing covers of SNSD and GWSN did really great. They look really good in suits!
Yea I think a reason why Mr Mr I disliked for awhile is because the whole situation behind it is so bizarre to me. How do you lose MV footage for the top girl group at the time? What SM did to resolve it just was so weird to me, and it affected my opinion of the comeback for a long time. Now though I have more appreciation for the song
We were SO close to truly legendary visuals. The diamond heart? Nurse-sica? Taeyeon with the big curly hair and EKG signal ring holding the calcium chlorate???
I can't fathom why SM didn't just reshoot the scenes that were missing in the original because not all of the scenes were corrupted iirc. Some of the original scenes were used in the new MV. I think the scenes in the underground parking lot were definitely from the original and I would have liked to see more of that.
Though I still can't fathom how they even got into that situation in the first place, we're in the age of technology and you lost the MV for your top GG?! The incompetence! Where were the backups?! >.<
The latter half of the BTS for the MV would have been visual gloriousness to include! *O* Sunny with the scales, Jessica with the IV drip and Yuri by the bed! They included scenes for some members there but not all of them. But now that I think about it, they probably replaced those scenes with the members dressed up as nurses instead.
See, I'm the opposite, I wanted the whole video to be from the hospital 😂 I wasn't interested in the parking garage because it was like less interesting Bad Girl. It was so different from what they had done previously. And I wanted it all CLEAR instead of in that weird blurry filter where you couldn't see anything (I get it was supposed to be from the viewpoint of the guy who was likely under general anesthesia but don't make the whole video like that).

Whilst I would like to see more of the garage, it is essentially Bad Girl 2.0. I just want to know what it would have been like out of curiosity even if it wouldn't have been anything ground breaking. The black and white dance scenes could have been scrapped and they given us vibrant scenes of them dancing in pink suits instead of just the dresses at the end. All the hospital scenes were overly saturated but oh so pretty. I didn't mind the filter because I figure it's supposed to represent him being under anesthesia but I can understand why people hate it lmao XD
They should have just shot the whole video in the hospital and be done with it, the MV would have been so much more cohesive that way without the random mish-mash of colour vs monochrome. That MV could have been literal visual perfection T_T I will say that Apink's "%%" had some elements that low-key channeled "Mr.Mr." and they pulled it off. Oh the things we could have gotten if they just did the Mr.Mr. era the justice it deserved >.
