This is such a weird cold letter. I don't know if it's the translation or just him wanting to be formal, but recalling the "faith" and "trust" you share with your fiancée but not love, when you say multiple times that you love your fans ? "I'll be the head of a household" ? Like seriously, the 50's called and they want you back. I mean obviously he wouldn't get married if he didn't love his girlfriend but the way he wrote about her is a bit cold for my Western ass.
He's cute though. And September weddings are great (I prefer October ones because hello Autumn, orange leaves and pumpkins)

Korean announcements for this type of info always sounds super ridiculously formal but I guess he thought it would be better to stay on the safe side. You never know with fans, even though he has been an idol since forever.

Do fans really think all these gorgeous, sweet and rich men stay single like monks? Why wouldn't you be happy to see your idol find love or just have fun? It makes me laugh when I go on a Twitter journey and some underaged girls are appalled to see male idols getting close to women but they find all kind of excuses when they do something bad. "I excuse this grown ass man to do something really stupid but I draw the line to dating".
They should make a "Normalise dating" for all these people.

Some people are just genuinely either very stupid or extremely possessive. In the past I would have been utterly thrilled if my favorite idols were having a great personal life but we all know it's not that easy over there. It's such a simply concept, you don't own people, and they don't owe you anything.

But he's been in the business for so long that he's cautious. Also I read his partner is a regular citizen so aside from him stating 'Yes we are dating' and 'Yes we are getting married' I think they are leaving the lovey dovey stuff aside since it seems to be heavily frowned upon. I remember the scandal when a well known singer dared to put his hands on his brides lower back/butt area during a dance...jesus christ.

hmm i think its hard to put it across in translation but his actual letter is quite warm really ;; even nonfans have mentioned it! and he's kept his announcement about his marriage and fiancé more formal out of ~respect for the fans. like i may not fully understand the kfan culture, but he's done well to keep them happy + keep a check that if they're feeling sad and delusional over this, then they know they're being delusional so those fans have also remained mostly quite (from what i've seen on my tl and all)

but anyhow, yes, in korean, it comes across as a sincere and warm letter!

Aww my very first oppa! DBSK is what really drew me into Kpop. I'm happy that he's found someone he wants to be with for the rest of his life, that must be so great... It was always a joke that he was mature and seemed older/stronger than he was for being the maknae, and that continues to be true... he's always been professional and mature. I mean compared to all the drama JYJ have caused/been through, it makes Changmin look so much more...I can't think of a better word than 'mature' lol. I mean he's the first one to get married! That's crazy. He seems to have a good head on his shoulders, hardworking and humble. Also that he's marrying a 'civilian' I think is a good thing, that he hasn't really 'disconnected' from the real world. He's just a good guy, and it shows. I picked the right one to stan lol. Congratulations to them!

I'm happy for him though! In some of his interviews he seems so cautious because of crazy fans in the past (and maybe even now), that I'm surprised he's talking about this in public. And him talking about it so far in advance also means it's not a shotgun wedding, so yay!

Back in the day, I would have figured that Yunho would have been the first to get married. But seeing as Changmin was the one to announce he was dating, I'm not even surprised that he's the first one to get married. Congrats to him! I remember when I got into DBSK, they were the first group I hard core stanned in the kpop community.

Glad that Changmin hasn't gotten the same ridiculous treatment as Sungmin and Jongdae because fans like that really have no right to call themselves fans at all.
