sigh. many songs grow on me over time and i'm hoping this will too. but i am underwhelmed upon first listen/watch and that has NEVER happened to me with a dia release. even with the songs i didn't enjoy as much, i still found plenty to be excited about. i guess it just feels like such a step back. i loved on the road, and i often enjoy "pure" concepts, but the girls just aren't selling it this time. after showing us how fierce they can be in woowa, they don't seem to fit this image. there's no spark in their eyes. as for the song, i am a fan of classic gfriend's sound, but the song is missing the powerful, guitar-driven elements that made those songs work for me. the song, too, is missing a spark. the absence of somyi and chaeyeon's voices is really felt here. they're part of dia's sound and they make it recognizable. i'll keep listening in the hopes of falling in love with it.
i'm glad they spoke about somyi and chaeyeon at the showcase and i really hope they will be there for the next comeback, although i'm not holding my breath for that, or even that there will be another comeback... but maybe i'm just letting the negativity of others get to me. i really hope dia will stick around longer. i love them so much.
yeesh this was underwhelming. they sound and look lovely, but this was a seriously downgrade from woowa which was one of my most played songs last year. MBK really paid these women dust huh? and with the glaring lack of members...i'm so sorry ladies, y'all deserve better.
The song would've sounded better if it was more dynamic, but it stayed flat the entire time. It had a good base, it just need 2-3 extra elements to liven it up. The video...chile there's not much worth saying besides the members looked good lmao. I really hope we get at least one more comeback before disbandment :/ they've had such a rough go of it from the very start.
So much pretty. Yebin is my girl but Jueun caught my eye here. Iggy Yongbae (the Gfriend composers) have done better songs though.
It's so awkward to watch the girls having to make vague excuses about the missing members. Is Chaeyeon busy with any dramas right now or will they make her a soloist? MBK just gets shadier each day.
This is cute and I can enjoy it, but it feels really dated? It would have made more sense to release it around On the Road, or for GFriend to release it back in 2015 lol (but not as a single... bside feels more appropriate). I feel like it lacks the punch of GFriend's singles, like the use of guitars, or lacks more dynamic in the melody. I also thought that Woowa fit them better as a concept, I wished they had released something similar. They sound good, Yebin especially
the interview was kinda awkward and it felt very rehearsed and PR-ish. the part about wanting to come back as DIA felt like it's up to MBK to decide how many members DIA will have the next round
This is ... really underwhelming. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a pleasant enough listen but I’m gonna forget it as soon as the song stops and I’ll be putting on Gfriend’s Labyrinth instead.

Date: 2020-06-10 05:21 pm (UTC)it sounds like a song a newly debuted/rookie group would have. definitely not a good choice for a title track, especially following woowa :(
