- Kun had a patch that said Agent Orange, the chemical that was used by US military in the Vietnam War that caused lots of health issues among Vietnamese people. (merch from the influential 80’s punk band Agent Orange)
- Winwin's had a slur against Japanese people on one of his pins. (‘Fuck’n Cool J**.’)
- SM reuploaded their teasers and the second group image teaser earlier and now the album will still be released digitally but the physical album is going to be delayed.
- The MV is gonna be delayed till 12 AM CST.

Where did the stylists get those patches and pins in the first place? And why would you ever pick out something that you don't understand the meaning of? Why wouldn't you google something before deciding to use it??

That said, stylists picking out things they don't understand is the reason Apink wore those "Ride on Maria, Jesus is dead" patches during My My promos and to this day that's the funniest outfit-related-thing I've seen in kpop.

Exactly, if it's just the ~aesthetic~ that they want they could easily just pick out something that isn't creepy or offensive. Especially bigger companies like SM that are custom making clothes for MVs and whatnot (e.g. JCC's episode where Johnny and Jaehyun go see how the Punch outfits are made).
Making stencils for tshirts is one of the easiest DIYs you could do. You can find inoffensive patches at fabric stores. And I know you can make your own badges that don't have slurs on them.

+ Management at all levels of those are all places this could have been flagged.

I'm still baffled at how none of these agencies seem to have any cultural/diversity oversight staff made up of people who have lived abroad but want to include it and other languages/references all the time to try and appeal to those audiences.
