On May 25, Big Hit officially announced that the company is now the largest shareholder of Pledis Entertainment.

Pledis Entertainment will be a label of Big Hit Entertainment but will still be operated independently. Pledis producer Han Sung Soo will add to the powerful lineup of Big Hit’s creative leaders, which was previously strengthened with the addition of CBO Min Hee Jin last year. Pledis artists will receive professional and systematic support from Big Hit along with further resources and connections on a global scale.

Han Sung Soo commented, “I am glad to join Big Hit, which is leading the Korean entertainment industry. This will provide an opportunity for the Pledis artists and involved individuals to all take a step forward. I am looking forward to the future that will be created with the combination of Pledis’s creative and Big Hit’s strengths. We will give back with better content for fans and greater success of our artists.

Big Hit CEO Bang Si Hyuk remarked, “More than anything, I am glad that we can collaborate with CEO Han Sung Soo and Pledis’s creative organization. Big Hit and Pledis will grow together with mutual understanding through music and create synergy in the future.”

Pledis Entertainment is currently home to artists including NU’EST, SEVENTEEN, Nana, Bumzu, Kyulkyung, Yehana, and Sungyeon.

Pledis should be happy because they've barely been getting by for a good number of years now right?

what? seventeen are the 3rd biggest boy group at the moment, pledis have been thriving ever since they debuted while putting zero effort into actually promoting them.

lmao, i mean i didn't have any doubt with the first one but after the news about NCT selling 1m were known some of their stans were saying they were the 2nd most popular so i just wanted to clarify !

none of nct's album have sold anywhere close to 1m so i'm guessing they're counting repackages? nct fans have been saying all sorts of stuff ever since nct 127 managed to chart on melon for more than a week but their albums have yet to outsell svt's last comeback. not to mention, baekhyun all by himself is selling like 500k albums so lol.

nct's neo zone sold 800k so the repackage took them to 1mil

I swear to God I didn't pull that statement out of thin air, but judging by your comment my intel is horribly outdated. Did not know Seventeen did so well in SK, good for them. I am also kinda weary of companies that have a single group as their cash cow though.

*pretends to be shocked*
Prayer circle so that Pledis (and now Big Hit) keep doing the minimum and just let SVT do their thing like in the past 5 years.
And I hope this doesn't reach the Pledis Japan/Carat Japan side of the business, they have been by far the best fanclub/pr management I've seen for a Korean group in Japan.

Fallin’ Flower is indeed the perfect release! And if we had had the dome tour, it would’ve sold even more than it already did. Plus, every Japanese release has been followed by so many collabs, cafes, museums, special goods, all very well done. They truly know their audience and are making the best of it lol
The logistics have also been really good. The arrangement they have with Lawson and HMV is great to reserve concert goods, we get exclusive stuff all the time, the staff has been super nice every time I needed to contact them, refunds for the JP concerts were super fast and easy to get... I seriously can’t think of anything to complain about lol

I've been enjoying the "so they've been starting to see each other with good intentions after all huh?" jokes over the internet

I've also seen some fascinating rumours that Pledis has started taking on female trainees again which is _very_ intriguing and not comforting in the slightest.

Imagine a Bighit family concert with BTS, Seventeen, Nu'est and GFRIEND (and I nearly forgot TXT). The power.
