i say i'm mostly watching for Pentagon and Oneus, but I liked what the boyz pulled with the sword.

i couldn't see what golden children were doing because of the flashing lights, but i'm kinda excited about them too since i listened to their last album. it's really good.

Right I know I'm biased but you can't tell me The Boyz didn't kill that, the sword trick was amazing and the eastern concept matches them well.Pentagon was the only other group of the batch that really stood out to me because Wooseok's acting was top notch. The others all merged together for me tbh but I like Golden Child's energy and I know Oneus can do better than this

i reckon pentagon and the boyz will do best on this show but im hoping golden child will be able to show themselves off theyre all good vocally and good dancers but honestly their performance faces sometimes lack they look bored rather than charismatic and i say that as someone who loves them

i do hope they find a way for joochan to use his violin skills like he does on vlive

i feel like some of the golcha boys stepped up their game since their hiatus but they still could improve in that aspect definitely. like for some members i do feel they lack stage presence & they don’t stand out, they get overlooked in such a big group.

i think they just haven't had enough experience performing more mature concepts yet like their recent stages of damdadi they're still good at performing upbeat songs but i think coming back from a long hiatus and a concept change at the same time has been a challenge for them.

bomin stands out for me for looking bored most of the time which is a pity cause most of the recent attention for golcha has been because of him and i love him but i only really trust joochan and jangjun to look charismatic consistently. y's vocals usually make him come across well too.

I really hope so! I'm also a fan and rooting for them. They all have their own talents but it's hard to stand out in such a big group, and I wouldn't be surprised if the recent concept change is still throwing them off performance-wise. Like they had time to polish their bright performances to fit them, but they're not there yet with dark concepts. Some are doing great (Joochan, Jangjun, Daeyeol), some not as well as I expected but still ok? (Y, TAG) and the rest either not there yet or hidden in the back as usual (was Jibeom even there? usually he catches my eyes lol I guess he was somewhere in the shadows?).
The lightning choices didn't help :(

Joochan is their ace, I'm sure he'll perform well on the show
I also hope there's a bright concept challenge at some point in this show, I made peace with GolCha's concept change but I like them doing bright performances from time to time like their recent Damdadi

dying a bit at the groups being the only audience and them being spread so far apart from each other. i'll never get used to this :(

i like that Pentagon brought in some acting. feels like "being haunted by passed success" is going to be their narrative through the whole run. I think Oneus and PTG are going to be the front runners but looking forward to what the other groups do too.

TOO...they shouldn't really be in the competition imo they haven't even debuted yet but mnet will mnet.

I stopped following Kpop boybands ages ago so I don't know any of these groups besides Pentagon. Are all they all well-known/popular (at least among fans) or completely nugu (like U-Kiss nugu level lol)?

a few of them have gotten 1st wins (on the lower level shows)—golden child on mnet & the boyz on the show, and i think there's a few popular members in those groups. definitely both the boyz + pentagon have popular members, i dont follow the rest tbh

Wasn't a condition to participe on Road to not have a win? Are they only counting mnet wins???

that doesn’t really make sense bcus golcha won on mcountdown (even if they were promoting on that show last era) so idk ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

might’ve been fanon, i guess?

Nah, they said it on the show announcement. They might have dropped the rule since there were not many options to begin with and some groups turned down the offer.

I'm guessing their caveat is public station broadcast wins since those carry more prestige.

onf, verivery & too are al nugu imo. the boyz are probably the most popular group in korea out of all the teams, pentagon the most popular internationally. golcha & oneus are somewhere in the middle.

a lot of these blended together, i hope we get more concepts than just hard dancing and popping to edm lmaoooo please come up with something else.

but i've liked a least one song by each of these groups so we'll see. i've been rooting for pentagon forever so i hope this will cement them and the boyz in the industry. and i'm rooting for all the rookies. but why is TOO there?? ugh i kinda just want the girls back tbh.

Here for Pentagon, ONF and Oneus, but honestly, The Boyz did the best out of these previews.

The lack of A.C.E, tho...

the lack of A.C.E is criminal but at least they're giving us grade A comedy on their youtube channel this week

it just hit me that 4 of these groups have lost members since debut. only the newer groups that debuted in the last year haven’t.

okay so i'm super excited for pentagon, oneus, verivery & the boyz but also like isn't this flagrantly breaking social distancing rules pmsl when did they even film this? i hope they don't have live audiences too.....

but i'm also still excited so like idk

also golcha & the boyz legit looked like the same person choreographed their routines...verivery & onf also kinda mixed in with them

there won't be an audience, every show's switched to no audience rn but the cast and crew still go even though it breaks social distancing protocol. SK doesn't have it super heavily enforced to begin with tbh except for restaurants and mass gatherings of more than 50 people like churches and concerts

Let's just call a thing, a thing...
We already know PENTAGON is going to slay this.
TBH.

Most memorable to me were :

- Pentagon for the interpretative/storyline approach. It feels like they're trying to break away from the Shine's bright/chill concept, but that it's difficult/confusing, as the performance turns into interpretative dancing/almost a horror concept. Looking forward to the full teaser to see if they keep it up or fall back into the more expected dark dance/outfit/EDM combo-concept. Reminded me of (G)I-DLE's own Queendom teaser for their focus on one member.

- The Boyz for the great use of a prop, more fluid(?) dancing style, and traditional influences in their music choice. They actually reminded me of VIXX, especially a mix of Voodoo and Shangri-la (both stand-out concepts). They gave a twist to the dark concept everyone else used.

As for the other groups : I feel like they all did well individually, but also that they all blended in together, somehow? Feels like dark EDM beats! or dark outfits! or powerful physical dance moves! or all of them lol without the extra kick like Pentagon and The Boyz to stand out (even if they're both within the same concept in the end lol). Even Golden Child, and it's coming from a fan of them. I can guess that they were synchronized as usual but the lightning was horrible and a self-sabotage, you couldn't see the dance moves properly.

Overall I'm a little disappointed with the teasers? Queendom showed off more individuality. I guess Kingdom will have more individuality too - that's the upside of veteran groups who know their strengths and which direction they want to move forward. So I can't really blame groups who haven't really established themselves (or just drastically changed concept like Pentagon and Golden Child, the two I'm mostly familiar with), I'm more blaming the producers choices.
