Flashback Friday
2020-03-27 02:48 pmEvery Friday I check out the charts for this day in the past and post the top three songs. Then I pick out two more from the top ten as honorable mentions. This week, we’re going back to the 4th week of March, 2013. Stay safe, everyone.
#3 Teen Top “Miss Right”
This was the lead single from their first full studio album. I remember bits of this, really just the “la la la la la la” part, and those things they would wear on their hands. Third time posting, so here’s the dance version MV. There’s a lot more pelvic thrusting than I remember. I’ve noticed since I’ve been doing this series that they had lots of pelvic thrusting choreo that I must have blocked from memory for some reason.
#2 Shinee “Dream Girl”
I’ve said it before, but the thing I remember the most from this era is the making of the music video wtf idk. I find that so weird because I love a good print, and all those pants make me all kinds of happy. Both the song and the album it is from, “Dream Girl – The Misconceptions of You”, would take the top spot. Here’s the dance MV this time too, featuring all that impressive microphone stand choreography.
#1 2AM “One Spring Day”
This was the lead single off of their album of the same name. Both the song and the album went on to do well on the charts, peaking in the top three. Jo Kwon just returned a few days ago, and I think one of them might still be in the army…but are they on hiatus? Or have they officially disbanded? I can’t remember. They haven’t released any music together since 2014. Here’s their comeback stage at Music Core.
Honorable Mentions
#4 Lee Hi “It’s Over”
This was the title track from her debut album. It’s a pretty strong album, and I loved her styling that era so much. So pretty! It’s a jazzy, real catchy song, and it would also give her her first music show win. Here’s her Inkigayo comeback stage.
#9 Verbal Jint featuring Ailee “If It Ain’t Love”
I don’t remember this at all, but I like it a lot. In 2013 and 2014 he didn’t release any albums, but he did release a bunch of singles. And all of them were collaborations with other artists. This song features Ailee, but in the MV the singer is played by former SeeYa member and actress Nam Gyuri.

Date: 2020-03-28 06:26 am (UTC)as someone primarily interested in female soloist i could easily apply this "they all look the same doing this concept" tag to most kpop ggs, coed units and korean rappers too LOL
at this point the lack of distinguishable looks is pretty much kpop signature move 😂
Dream Girl is perfect.
