In late 2019, reports were made that an individual was claiming to have witnessed Wonho and Jung Da Eun smoking marijuana in 2013. The individual who made the allegations is currently detained at the Seoul Detention Center due to charges of using drugs including marijuana, Philopon (a form of methamphetamine), ecstasy, and ketamine. The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency’s narcotics investigation team launched an inquiry into the allegations, and Wonho is said to have been fully cooperative with the investigation.
On March 14, Starship Entertainment released an official statement announcing that the investigation had been concluded and Wonho had been cleared of all charges related to the case. Their statement reads as follows:
"Hello, this is Starship Entertainment.
On March 10, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency’s narcotics investigation team concluded their investigation into allegations involving drugs such as marijuana and MONSTA X’s former member Wonho, and Wonho has been cleared of all charges related to the case.
In late October, 2019, allegations of marijuana use were made against Wonho, and the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency’s narcotics investigation team launched an investigation into the charges. During this process, Wonho was fully cooperative in all stages of the investigation, including the scientific examinations carried out by the investigative body. The team carried out a broad investigation over the past five months, but did not find any suspicious activity, and the case surrounding Wonho was closed on March 10.
Irrespective of the above information, our agency and Wonho wish to once again apologize for causing great concern to fans. Also, we wish to express our deep gratitude to the Korean and international fans who have watched over the investigation and shown their unchanging support.
During the investigation, we minimized the media coverage and external exposure of Wonho as much as possible, and we have waited a long time as we did our best, such as appointing legal representation, to ensure that there were no unjust charges. We will give Wonho our full support so that he can continue down the path he desires in the future."
On October 31, 2019, it was announced that Wonho would be leaving MONSTA X, following rumors involving his acquaintance Jung Da Eun that Starship Entertainment later denied. He wrote a letter to fans explaining his departure and on November 1, Starship Entertainment confirmed that they had terminated their contract with Wonho.

Date: 2020-03-14 10:37 pm (UTC)i don't think there was ever actually an inquisition into the money theft. starship denied it ever happened and the police were somehow much more interested in marijuana rumours than actual theft. i don't know if daeun will ever get her money back, but i think she had figured she wasn't going to anyway at this point in time.
