On March 9, Pledis Entertainment CEO Han Sung Soo announced on Instagram that he was stepping down from his position as IZ*ONE’s producer. His statement reads:

Hello, this is Pledis Entertainment CEO and IZ*ONE producer Han Sung Soo.
After working as a general producer for the group IZ*ONE since their debut for a total of three albums, I am stepping down from this position as of April 2020. It seems like yesterday that the IZ*ONE members were training together after having just become one team, but already my time with them has come to an end.

While working with them on their three albums, from their debut mini album “COLOR*IZ” to their second mini album “HEART*IZ” and to their first studio album “BLOOM*IZ,” I was able to experience great joy and reward as a producer in seeing IZ*ONE grow. I was also fortunate to share those daily moments in which WIZ*ONE received happiness from IZ*ONE. IZ*ONE has become an amazing group that has lived up to their potential in their three albums, and I hope that WIZ*ONE enjoyed this time as well. Thank you to IZ*ONE and WIZ*ONE for giving me such great memories during this time.

IZ*ONE has become a great team that has expanded all over the world, and WIZ*ONE are the strength that pulled IZ*ONE to where they are today. I have decided to focus more faithfully on fulfilling my role as Pledis Entertainment’s CEO and I will work hard in order to bring out the talent and potential of the teams that are under my care. From afar, I will watch IZ*ONE and WIZ*ONE go to even higher places together with a happy heart, and I will always cheer them on in their pursuit of further growth and a wider sphere.

I know if it ain't broke, don't fix it but honestly I can't believe people used to shit on Twice for sticking to the same bubblegum pop sound for ages when IZ*ONE's out there essentially putting out the exact same songs over and over.

i mean i think he did really well with their beginning stuff but yeah it's time for a new direction. the titles are all sounding the same now.

but i was honestly pleasantly surprised with their 1st and 2nd album production! wasn't into ioi's stuff after debut so i was expecting the same with izone but i'm actually invested lol

in what world does la vie en rose sound anything like violeta or fiesta? anyway, i liked their music until now but i wouldn't mind a new direction as long as they don't go down the noisy girl crush route cause i'm sick of it. i wonder how much longer hss will be in charge of fromis.

Their three title tracks really don't sound all that similar to me tbh so I don't think this was necessary. I like all three songs for different reasons but the one thing I love is the refined yet colourful vibe their titles have, and how it's not jumping from one concept to another. It's a good balance, neither too childish, nor too sexy. I'm not a fan of noise music and fiesta has been toying with the line without crossing it yet. I hope the new producer will keep their image cause it's really my style.

Besides, they're disbanding somewhere in April 2021 I believe. They have two more albums at best before they disband so I don't think it's really important to refresh their concept/sound although some variety is also welcome.

Honestly, he did well with IZ*ONE! It's a temporary group, but they already made the best out of it (despite the MNET mess which put them on hiatus). Their singles in SK are different but within a same genre/concept, even visually there are similarities. They have an identity, which I can't really say about IOI (their singles were all over the place).
Sticking to this identity for three releases was a good strategy too. It gave them some stability, especially with Japan promotions in the middle (a whole other subject lmao).
Now is a good moment to move forward and start switching things up more. So this news make sense. I just hope they don't go for a drastic change.

I also wish he had been able to put the same amount of focus/care into Pledis girl groups to begin with :/

FUCK this guy for throwing away Pristin's potential and playing with their hopes and dreams, specially Xiyeon who wasted a decade of her life in that trash company.

He clearly needed IZ*ONE more than they needed him, from the get go they already were a very solid group with a huge fanbase in two countries, he doesn't get to take credit for that. If anything it's good he's already out or else he could gotten ideas to ruin these girls' careers aswell.
