SEVENTEEN’s S.Coups will be resuming activities! Last November, Pledis Entertainment announced the idol would be taking a break due to health reasons. On March 3, S.Coups personally announced he was coming back via Naver’s V Live.
During the live session, S.Coups communicated with his fans by replying to their comments. He gave an update on how he was doing, saying, “I took a nap today. I read the webtoon ‘Itaewon Class’ so I’m planning to watch the drama all at once later.”
He added, “The SEVENTEEN members looked so cold during the performance on the last day of 2019. They still looked cool though. I know what that feels like. I watched every one of their performances. They did great. I wanted to see it in person.”
Then S.Coups announced, “I’ve gotten a lot healthier, so I’m going to resume activities. Rather than suddenly [appearing] again, I thought it’d be better if I told you myself through V Live. Thank you for your concern, and you don’t have to worry about me anymore since I’m a lot better now.”

Date: 2020-03-12 12:05 pm (UTC)That said, even when there was no deadline to his hiatus, i think it would have been very difficult for him to be in hiatus much longer with the Tokyo Dome concerts coming up in 2 months. And even when he was on hiatus, he still participated in the Japanese single shooting/recording (idk when exactly this happened though..it could have been before his hiatus) and also traveled to the US with the others to do some kind of shoot in January. It probably is a mix of feeling pressure but also feeling good enough to do it, idk. he went on hiatus in November, so it has only really been 4 months.
It's not known what caused his anxiety symptoms, it could be sth else than his leader-responsibilities. I just hope he continues treatment and that the treatment is not just medicine.
Do you remember the solo interview where he talked about being the leader? He did say in there that he relaxed after 2017 and started to share responsibility more. But imo it's guaranteed that the other members will keep a closer eye on him from now on.
Rn it seems like Seventeen are chilling (last/this week the European concerts would have happened), so he still has some more time before having a comeback on tv. With the Japan travel ban and event cancellations, their schedules have freed up more. All of a sudden we get so many magazine appearances haha. Idk, i have a like-dislike relationship with how Pledis handles their artists health. On the one hand, they seem pretty good with handling injuries, like The8 going on hiatus bc of his back or Vernon because of his ankle. On the other hand their (tour) scheduling was horror with how many dates followed each other in a short amount of time and no breathing space bc when they weren't on tour they had to prepare for stuff like end-of-the-year stages. A lot of Seventeen started getting sick and every other concert had a member or more missing. I seriously hope that PLEDIS learned from that :/
