I was in agreement with the patches and cuts... I could not agree with the lace.

I wish I had any kind of sewing skills. I can SOMETIMES sew a button back on to a jacket, but that's only SOMETIMES. I would love to be able to alter clothes like this.

OP-if it helps you any, when i was a kid my mom taught us the basics on socks and underwear that had holes in them so you could always practice that way. as i got older i would make pillows using old clothes and by high school i was turning tote-bags into legit purses and making arm warmers to fit all my emo/scene needs...*certain things can be easier to do if you take it as a pass-time hobby and do little things at a time~

*i'll never be as talented as my great-grandmas but i can do patches. in no way am i saying this a the method to becoming a seamstress but it's good to have the basics down pat

Here's an update you definitely didn't ask for but about a week before our super-small exchange i started learning how to knit but had to put it on hold because my bronchitis decided it was time to kick my ass until maybe 2 weeks ago...anyway i found out last week that hobby lobby's how-to video is completely wrong and so yeah......knitting's going on the back-burner for a while longer lol...on the bright-side i attended a virtual sausage-making seminar and it was brilliant

ANYWAY..something fun you could do sew-wise is to turn a pair of old sweatpants into shorts and use the remaining cloth tubes to make pillows out of

the lace is a choice but the patchwork is cute! i'd definitely wear some patchwork jeans, lol.

i know it's not likely anytime soon with covid-19, but i hope they can have a comeback later this year.
