Chen writes letter to fans following pregnancy & marriage news

EXO's Chen has spoken out for the first time since his marriage and pregnancy announcement.

On the 19th, Chen wrote a letter to fans stating, "I'm worried that I might hurt you with my clumsy words but I want to apologize to everyone who waited for all that time. I want to express my apologies to EXO-Ls who must have been surprised and taken aback by my sudden news. That was the first time experiencing writing a letter like that so I worried a lot about what I should say to EXO-L who've stayed with me . But I thought I should personally tell you all first. However, my clumsy words caused a lot of disappointment and hurt. Seeing you experience that made my heart ache as well."

He added, "I don’t know if my feelings will be conveyed well, but I’m sincerely grateful for the love that you’ve given me and I’m more aware than anyone else that I am who I am now because of that love. I want to apologize again for expressing my apologies to you so late. Also, I will show you how I’m continuing to try hard. Thank you."

people need to take a break from kpop if this announcement caused them that much distress/anger. we don't know these people, they don't owe us an explanation and definitely not an apology for living their life. i wish chen would just tell these people to shut up and accept the fact that he ain't going nowhere and if they can't get over it they should just leave and take their negativity with them.

I’ve been out of touch with the exo fandom for years now so I’m not sure how they handled it but can only imagine fans must’ve jumped ship at his news. Particularly since Kpop is built around this crazy premise of giving fans so much power. It can’t be easy for him right now. I hope he weathers it well and continues to do what it is he loves and have his family too.

1+ year down the road when his baby is big, I want him on that return of Superman or whatever it’s called show because I want to see daddy Chen in action taking care of his baby 😁

Wow fans can be really weird. The members cant't be single forever. If they want the group to stay together for a long time, they hould accept these things.

It's time for the culture of "a pay for a fansign bought 10 albums therefore I own them" to end in kpop, this people need to realize how ridiculous they sound and how toxic kpop gets with that attitude. I was a bit dissapointed that he apologized, but I understand that he was in a lot of pressure, just wish that SM would do something, sue the people that have been leaving hateful comments or do some kind of action so that this people would feel like a slap in the face.
Expect nothing from SM, but still... ugh
