Seohyun to play LGBTQ character in upcoming drama "Hello Dracula"

Seohyun was casted for the role of An Na in the upcoming JTBC short-drama "Hello Dracula", and Sones went wild after it was revealed that her character will be a woman that has "liked women ever since middle school".

Fans have also been joking that the writer is a Soshi fan since the name of her characters mother is Mi Young (Tiffany's korean name) and the child actress portraying her younger version is called Kim Taeyeon.

Just to clarify, I originally wanted to post "plays a lesbian character" but we don't know if her character is indeed lesbian or maybe bisexual, so I choose LGBTQ.

Then just write that she plays either a lesbian or a bisexual woman. LGBTQ is ridiculous! Is she going to play all of them at once...? ~.~

Also, keeping my expectations low for this. She will either play a lesbian, who dies horribly/will be miserable in the end or a bisexual woman, who ends up in a straight relationship. xddd

I'm so happy and proud that she's picking up this kind of role
I'm not surprised as Soshi has supported the LGBT community for some time now but as somone who's trying to set up her acting career and who had such a proper (even conservatice) image for long, it's a bold choice
Now I hope that the character's arc will be well-written, but this little write-up is promising
I doubt a drama would stop Korea from being super conservative, but I hope it will help LGBT people to see their stories being told on tv - representation matters.

Seohyun has always been openly supportive of LGBT community. Idk if I'd call her conservative either; she's always been outspoken and forward in her ideas. She looks up to Ban Ki-Moon a lot, who is pretty liberal afaik.

Yes she's always been pretty liberal! I was talking about the image she had - mostly thanks to SM. They made her to be the proper daughter, and she has voiced frustrations over it, but I think it's still following her (she was asked to sing with North Korean singer because of her pristine image for example). Really happy to see her making her own choices now that she's out of SM!

i don't think that i'm a fan of sone behaviour regarding this because calling a drama that actually deals with lgbt topic (we barely have any and i can name only a couple of movies too) fanfiction coming alive is very ng. it's like everything is some kind of ship and real people and their real issues don't exist.
that aside i'm pretty excited. it seems to be just special so i'm gonna keep my expectations low. glad to see seo back to acting!
