Happy Friday! Every week I check the charts for this day in the past and share the top three songs. Then I pick out two more from the top ten as honorable mentions. This week, we’re going back to the 3rd week in January, 2014.



#3 B1A4 “Lonely”
This is my favorite B1A4 song! I haven’t heard it in a while, and I think it still holds up well! I still really like it. This was the single off of their “Who Am I” album. I have no idea what happened to them. I would assume that because of their age some of them are serving right now? But I don’t know if they’ve disbanded or not.

#2 Apink “Good Morning Baby”
This song was released to celebrate the group’s 1000 day anniversary. I don’t remember this song at all, but it seems like it was released at a good time, sandwiched between “No No No” and “Mr Chu”. The MV looks to be a behind the scenes of a photoshoot. They all look pretty cute.

#1 Gary featuring Crush “Shower Later”
This was the lead single off of his first solo EP, and multiple songs (if not all of them) would chart. I remember this song because I could barely watch the MV for 30 seconds before turning it off. This is the 2nd time posting, but there are no music show performances because the song was banned from MBC, KBS, and SBS. So here’s the music video again. Still couldn’t finish the damn thing lol.

#7 Girls Day “Something”
This was another big hit for them, it would be their highest charting single to date. I liked their styling this era, so pretty. This time let’s see the dance MV. The group would win the MAMA that year for best female dance performance. We don’t see much floor choreo like this anymore. Except maybe Sunmi, maybe?

#10 AOA “Miniskirt”
Their big breakout song that would help them make 2014 their big breakout year. This song would be their highest charting song to date, and give them their first music show win. Almost 6 years later, the group would make their comeback with this song on the show Queendom…and got ranked 4th for it, which is so uggghhh to me because I really liked their stage lol.

Well 2 (3?) of their members left the agency so I think they were left as a trio. I wanna say at least one of them is serving now as well, so they haven't broken up but they aren't active either.

Well, in terms of B1A4, Jinyoung and Baro left their agency. The other three decided to stay and they announced that B1A4 now consisted of 3 members. CNU is currently in the military while Sandeul and Gongchan do... not so much. I still occasionally see Gongchan post about them on twitter, but I'm guessing he's planning to go more into acting (although, to be honest, I don't know how good of an actor he is).

Sandeul have released a solo album since they went down to 3 members, but they haven't released any music as a trio as of now. But. since he's born in '92 he's gonna have to go to the army any day now.

Honestly, Jinyoung was my absolute fave in the group, and since he was both the leader and the one who wrote the majority of their music I just don't see how... they are gonna go on. Sandeul is the one I'd say have the biggest chance of remaining successful since he's such an amazing singer and he can do solos for dramas and stuff. CNU has been in a lot of musicals and I can see him continue to do that after he leaves the army, but I don't think he ever got a lot of individual recognition so I don't see him really having a major solo career.

They were never *super* successful as a group. but they always did decently well. And what's more, the members always seemed to be really close with each other. But, I remember that there were talks about Baro having major issues with WM because of what happened with his sister, so I don't think people were surprised when he left. Jinyoung leaving however, really surprised me...

Well well, now I've written enough about this. lol.

Thinking about them still makes me sad :(

Love Something and Lonely! Lonely is the first song I heard from B1A4 and loved it and started to follow them and listen to their older songs. It still makes me sad that Baro and Jinyoung left the group. Now I want to go and watch What's Happening dance practice!
