The three books I've read so far this year have been busts :( I'm about to start The Power by Naomi Alderman for a bookclub I'm joining and hopefully it'll be better than the others.
I feel like The Power should replace Lord of the Flies in our curriculum, it's such a great updated take on the concept of power and there are so many things to discuss about the book!!!
yes but only because I don't watch tv on weeknights anymore so I'm usually in my room reading by 8PM most nights if I don't go out (which isn't often since I'm broke rn lol)
I didn't know Chanmi likes to read. So many books in that shelf!
A+ book choices OP! Oryx and Crake in particular is fantastic. I enjoyed Emma but my most favorite Austen novel is Mansfield Park.
Right now I'm reading The Farm by Joanne Ramos and listening to Searching for Sylvie Lee by Jean Kwok on audio. Audiobooks are a recent discovery for me and I'm really into them at the moment.
looove to talk about books and to listen to people talking about books so i loved this video too. she reads a lot of nonfiction books esp psychology books, i can imagine that as an idol that must be a particular interesting topic
how are you liking emma op? i just finished it during my christmas break and enjoyed it, but not as much as i expected. oryx and crake is on my to read list too! i am currently reading girl, woman, other by bernardine evaristo which i can recommend to everyone! sooo good
ohh i'm gonna save this to watch later. she had a lot of out there diet videos on her channel so I couldn't subscribe for the sake of my body image but this video is right up my alley
I'm not reading anything special rn but here are three recent recs 1. Inferior: The true power of women and the science that shows it by Angela Saini 2. Jack of Hearts (and other parts) by Lev A. C. Rosen 3. Because We Are Bad: OCD and a Girl Lost in Thought by Lily Bailey
This video got me wondering- how big is fantasy and sci-fi in SKorea?
