JYP Entertainment Files For Restraining Order + Presses Charges Against TWICE’s Nayeon’s Stalker

JYP Entertainment has taken legal action against a man who has been stalking TWICE’s Nayeon.

The agency released the following statement on January 8:

"Hello.

This is JYP Entertainment.

On [January] 8, we filed criminal charges to the Seoul Gangnam Police Station against the stalker of TWICE member Nayeon for Interference with Business (Criminal Act Article 314).

Furthermore, we also filed for a restraining order to the Seoul Central District Court on [January] 7.

Previously, the stalker who attempted to approach Nayeon continuously was warned under police order several times already to not approach her. However, the stalker continuously took actions that ignored [the warnings], and he boarded the plane on [January] 1 on the flight back after carrying out activities abroad, attempted to approach Nayeon again, and caused a major disturbance on board.

Along with the measures mentioned above, we will continue to take all possible strict measures to ensure the safety of our artist."

I'm guessing the fact that he got in the same plane as her gave them enough to file for a restraining order? I'm surprised it didn't happen sooner but I'm also not familiar with Korean law and what was required to file the restraining order
I hope this and the criminal charges help in either get him out of the country, or to prevent entry once his visa expires
I feel so bad for Nayeon and everyone around her (members, families and staff), it's so scary :(

I hope for Nayeon's safety, physical and mental, and that this guy gets some help and can come down from this, because he has said some scary stuff. He thinks that he is trying to save Nayeon from her managers and guards so I'm not sure a restraining order will help. That it might make him escalate his attempts to reach her, because to him Nayeon would definitely fall for him but her evil managers are keeping them apart.

I hope this restraining order is actually effective (but I’ve not much faith that it will, sadly). Like another user here said, his tweets are becoming more deranged by the day. The things he’s saying, for ex: when they start dating, when he meets her, how the managers are the ones who “attacked” him first (well what did he expect when he tried to rush up to Nayeon? the managers aren’t exactly gonna sit back & go, “oh it’s just *whateverhisnameis*, he’s cool!” & not do anything), stuff like that. It’s probably utterly terrifying for the poor woman; Hell for all of em.

It's sick how her stalker is trying to gaslight people on twitter and youtube into thinking it's JYP and the management keeping them apart. And it pisses me off he's using Way's Asian Boss episode to "show" how companies keep people away from people. That was her dad they kept away not some delusional stalker. idk why JYP can't use this dude youtube and twitter as proof to get him deported.

They're using everything, they even have recording of his first meeting with them and all the gifts he sent. It's just the law against stalking in kor is shit, and they're basically out of options.

I was kinda hoping maybe SK would bend the rules a little for a famous person. Because really we haven't seen any companies truly try and pursue a stalker before. I was just being hopeful.

He hadn't, but he did give some gifts to the managers to "pass them on to her" and sent some to the company aw. They didn't pass on anything and instead kept hold of the gifts and later delivered them to the police as evidence.

What's happening with him is weird and I don't understand it. JYPE is quite clearly doing everything they can to stop him -thank God - but at the same time fans have spoken about a similar Korean stalker who's been after Sana for way longer than this loser and we've heard of nothing being done to him. Idk if it's a nationality thing and they don't want to alienate the members' many akgaes, or if this one is being too loud and that's why they're working hard to stop him.
