I've read about this movie and now I want to watch it but I'm late :'( idk where or when... don't know if it was shown in my country on cinemas. Hope it continues winning awards so it'll become more accessible
I will watch it online but sometimes when a movie does well in this kind of awards they put it again in some cinemas in my country so I'll wait a bit. Thank you for the site, I'll keep it for later!
You can check here (https://m.imdb.com/title/tt6751668/releaseinfo?ref_=m_tt_dt_rdat) if it already opened in your country or if there's plans to do so soon.
i love his speech. also scorcesse whined because his movie didnt do well and theaters only want to show superhero movies. like bullshit, just make a good movie, maybe. Parasite is not a superhero movies and foreign.
interesting way to completely miss the point of what scorsese said. Parasite didn't win due to box office strength. it had a limited release. maybe there'd be more demand for wide releases of movies like Parasite if blockbusters didn't clog up every cinema chain and audiences were more discerning. a movie winning a major award that most people will never get to see in cinema is a point in favour of scorsese's actual argument.
one-inch barrier fans should check out scorsese's own world cinema restoration project - it has singlehandedly done more for ensuring foreign movies of yesteryear are both preserved for the future and remain a part of western film conversations than any other single hollywood organisation http://www.film-foundation.org/world-cinema
so safe to say he'd be celebrating Parasite's win... in a foreign language category he wasn't eligible for anyway 🤡
Y’all go see this movie. It’s an incredible film about interclass relations and tensions and it’s so fucking masterfully shot. I watched it months ago and I still think about it.
It’s smart and uncomfortable and my friend cried watching it due to how heavy the themes hit her. It looks at class privilege in such a dynamic way.
yess this movie was perhaps the best i've seen last year! it kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time and i loved the way it addressed class struggle and the effects of neoliberalism in korea
Its hard for me to sit through a movie (I usually pause or continue watching later or ffwd it (If I've seen the movie) that's why I haven't been going to the movies. This movoe, I watched from start to finish. Rare. It really caught my interest early on. And for me, masterfully made.
