Sandara Park offered for lead appearance in Korean version of ‘Step Up’ movie

2NE1 Sandara Park will make her screen lead appearance debut.

Sandara Park previously did a surprise appearance as Rie in MBC drama ‘Return of IlJiMae’ last year.

And for this time, Sandara Park has received many ‘lovecalls’ for drama appearances. It has been known that she has received the offer to appear as the lead appearance for the Korean version of movie ‘Step Up’. An official said, “Currently we have just relayed the scenario to Sandara Park. We want to cast her for the movie, given her experience in singing, dancing and also acting in both Korea and back in the Philippines.”

With that a YG Entertainment representative said, “Not just for this movie, we have received many offers for other dramas and movies. She promoted as actress back in the Philippines, but under our company she is promoting as a singer as part of 2NE1, but even so she has also been practising her acting regularly. Sandara Park will show her improvement features not only through music by also through movies and dramas.”

Honestly I would like her to go full time for acting (I always get very nervous when it's her time to sing on stage and I don't like that feeling as I would just prefer to enjoy the show), however, for dancing movie they should get someone else who can actually dance.

...Yes on the acting.....dancing....ummm.......while shes not bad at it I wouldn't consider her the ideal person for it...

And slightly off topic but I think the male lead should be Joon from MBLAQ! When I think of Step Up, I think of Channing Tatum who did hip-hop and ballet. He did go to a dance school afterall (he did right?).

I mean the girl is nice and stuff, but daaaaaamn....it's a DANCE movie! If they want to make korean 'step up' they need someone who really can dance! Boa would be nice <3 she has that passion and energy when she dances! <3 That's what makes the dance great-passion! I don't know much about korean girls groups, but I'm sure there're girls who can dance well!

Uhhhh not a Dara-hater, but I'm not so sure about Dara acting in Step Up Korea. Step Up had really good trained dancers. I'd rather have someone like Hyoyeon or Stephanie (from CSJH) dancing in a dance movie.

good for her. personally i don't think she can ever fully prove her capabilities as a singer but as an actress (and as a dancer) she can show us why yg even picked her to be in the group in the first place. i don't hate her, it's just that she hasn't really proven herself well as a singer, especially when performing live. and her fans annoy me sometimes when they literally force you down on your throat that sandara park is an ~actress~, the ~face of 2ne1~ etc. etc. that's why she's necessary.

Dara proved she's more than capable of singing at the Free Christmas concert, especially when they performed In the Club, she's just not a powerful singer in comparison to the other girls.
