I think what prompted this step up was the stalker actually coming into contact with Jeongyeon and Tzuyu. He tweeted about meeting them as they were leaving to go somewhere, saying that Jeongyeon seemed "stressed" and didn't accept the letter he wanted her to pass onto Nayeon. Fans thought he was bullshitting but it came out later that they had actually went somewhere together with Jeongyeon's sister (He most likely had been hanging around the JYPE building day in and day out so he was bound the run into a member eventually). I'm just glad JYPE are actually taking this very seriously. He needs to be deported or something.

yeah agreed. kpop companies are not equipped to deal with this with their lack of security. although BTS have gotten huge bodyguards in the US recently but it would be good if they got them in Korea too but i guess their success hinges on being approachable and down to earth with fans

It must be so hard to work and live like this. I can't imagine what they're feeling.

That guy seriously needs help. He just uploaded a vlog and without watching it, it’s clear that he doesn’t think he’s done anything wrong. I really hope he is forced to leave the country.

i already have anxiety as a regular person so i can't imagine the levels famous people must deal with especially with happenings like this :(

echoing a lot of other comments saying not only should they deport him, but ban him from being able to re-enter the country. this dude needs to be monitored. there's always the concern he'll change obsessions to another group/idol and their company not being aware of him

What did the stalker do? Not trying to downplay this but I find it odd how so much action is being taken when it's a foreigner....... yet Korean sasaengs literally break into dorms with no kick back? Like do they care just because it's a ~*~scary foreigner~*~ or did he actually do something worse than the norm?

Also regarding everything I said above, I hate hate hate sasaengs and think all those "fans" should be punished and don't condone any stalking behavior at all. I just find it interesting that we are hearing about police action when it isn't a Korean behind the harassment.

He's made his delusions about Nayeon very public and very clear. Under his old (now deleted) reddit account he made a comment along the lines of it being morally right to murder a public figure if they reject you. He denies this now, but it was him. As I said in my post above, a couple days ago he actually went up to Jeongyeon and Tzuyu in person to try and get them to give a letter to Nayeon, which I think is what prompted this uptick in security.

Oh fuck. Okay. What the fuck. Yea that is serious as hell. I really hope they will be okay. They must be so scared. :(

How do people know it was him btw? If you know. Sorry I am not trying to make light of this stuff I just don't know how to word my questions.

He tweeted about meeting them as they were leaving to go somewhere. Fans thought he was lying and just spouting delusions again until it was revealed sometime later that Jeongyeon and Tzuyu actually did go somewhere together (with Jeong's sister).

Like I said, he's been very public throughout all this. I think that's what differentiates him from Korean saesangs, who for the most part move in silence.

after catching up on everything it seems that he could be life-threatening to the girls, so i'm glad they're getting this security but at the same time it's sad that it had to escalate to this point to get proper security because i'm sure they have their fair share of sasaengs and creepy guys that try to grab them, grope, etc.

This is worrying.. it reminds me of the Bjork's stalker storie and I pray to God this one doesn't turn like that

This guy is nuts, he is so delusional he believes that JYPE is pressuring Nayeon not to contact him. And he seems to have devoted his life for this, like i'm not even sure a banishment from Korea will stop him. He knows Twice travel all over the world, he knows their schedule, it won't be hard for him to follow them in another country :/

jesus, that Bjork story was crazy scary. I still get chills whenever I think about it.

I hope the girls are ok and this guy needs to be restrained and idk, treated?

i did the mistake of watching a mini documentary about it a few months ago and the image of his final video was so, so haunting. I wish I can go back in time and un-see it all.

The world doesn't take stalking seriously even when often times it ends in a tragedy. Like Korea's law against stalking is a fine of a staggering[!] $89, unless they inflect physical pain of sort.

I hope this guy see sense, or realize he has a problem and sort himself out.
