Super Junior's Sungmin is going to release a solo album!

Following reports of Sungmin releasing his first solo album, Super Junior’s agency Label SJ confirmed the news.

A source from Label SJ said, “Sungmin is currently preparing his first solo album. The plan is to release it in mid-November and to release a physical album.”

Sungmin has not participated in group activities following his marriage in December 2014.

Earlier in June, Super Junior’s agency stated that while Sungmin would not be participating in team activities, he would be greeting fans through individual activities.

i think this is a good idea, that way he hopefully won't have to suffer from all the bullying (like get out of suju etc) and can spend time with fans who do support him and his marriage

That said a solo singer's a good idea; the impression I get is that soloists his age and above have a higher degree of freedom regarding their personal lives, since they're not really considered part of the idol scene anymore. And this won't put him in direct exposure to those gross Suju fans who went at him, though I'm sure some of them will find ways to attack him anyway.

I'll definitely support him! He's always been over if my faves. && I haven't followed SuJu in ages, but I was beyond pissed at the way he was treated. They can joke about wanting Heechul to date but when a member actually does get married, they ostracize him??? Ridiculous

I still can't believe he's not allowed to promote with Suju. All he did was getting married for fucks sake. I'll never understand the crazy, batshit "fans" who won't let him back, and i ALSO can't believe that the rest of Suju accepts it. They have like five fans left in South-Korea. Most i-fans I know are okay with him being married. I can't believe i just wrote that fans are "okay" with him being married. ITS RIDICULOUS.

Though I'm still super bitter about the way SM treated him and I sort of wish he hightailed out of that company when they kicked him out of SJ, I was really happy when I heard about his upcoming album. He used to be my absolute fav and I can only wish him the best. I'm sort of hoping for an acoustic pop/ballad album. I know he's not the best singer out there but he can sound really lovely <3

This makes me happy! I am glad he is finally doing a solo album, even though I would love to see him back in Suju but at this point the way the fans treated him I am not sure if I would want him to go back. Hopefully his fans support him. I have not figured out why him getting married should of affected the fans the way it did. I could see them being upset maybe at first but it has been awhile now and I was hoping by this comeback they would of accepted him back.

i had wondered if he would go solo since he clearly wasn't returning to SJ any time soon. i am still so flabbergasted over the fact that fans put him in the same category as douches like kangin just because he got married. why is that something to end someone's career over? -.-" god forbid someone for wanting to tie the knot and not be single their whole lives >_>
