Plot: Dong-Baek (Gong Hyo-jin) faced prejudice from the people around her, first for being an orphan and then for being a single mom. As a result she’s ever the pragmatist. When the sweet optimist that is Yong-Sik (Kang Haneul) comes into her life, his warmth and belief that love is all you need start to soften her pragmatism. But not many people are rooting for them and in addition to societal barriers, Dong-Baek’s ex-boyfriend Jong-Ryeol (Kim Ji-suk) may prove to be a big stumbling block. Despite being married and a father himself, he’s still nursing some unresolved feelings for his old flame.

Date: 2019-11-01 11:40 pm (UTC)And then the fake dumping because a killer is after her... Like a wedding will change that? Marry me, I have no impulse control or self-preservation! What kdrama nonsense is going on?
The mother and Dongbaek did surprise me, that Dongbaek walked, and that her mom thought she could get it in the first place. (Unless it's a misdirect and she was just holding off doc.) I was not surprised that Dongbaek cried over her mom's reaction more than her mom's intentions. Again, she's neither a dragon nor a hippo. I'm not saying she's weak or isn't the drip of water that wears through stone, but fierce and deadly she is not.
I'm not sure what I think was the best course of action for Dongbaek, but I hope she doesn't regret whatever choice, cause pretty sure she'll offer it up.
I'm not touching the revamped childhood soulmate scene stuff.

Date: 2019-11-03 01:36 am (UTC)I loved the ladies shutting down the reporter. They were so great, seemingly unhelpful and the POW!

Date: 2019-11-03 02:15 am (UTC)Little things from these 2 episodes hit some spots in my heart like the father begging the reporter to just attack him directly and not to include his kid. The reporter is really awful for thinking of using the child when he did not do anything wrong. Are they not afraid of how they'd damage the kid? There some quality jerks in this drama (yes, I hate that Doctor brother).
What do I want to see...I'm honestly ok with not having a happy ending with Yong Shik and Dong Baek's love story. Or even an open ending would bw ok with me. I'm curious about the killer. It seems that Dong Baek's mom knows something about it.

Date: 2019-11-03 03:51 pm (UTC)I want an open ending that includes some acceptance of pil-gu/single mother. It's clear that Yong shik doesn't care, so some sign of a future family with his mom being ok with it. I would like Jessica to be left, just cause, and to see Mr. Copenhagen doctor suffer some real remorse. And a scene or two of our lady lawyer just absolutely loving life. And finally, the neighborhood ahjummas just continuing to be a handful, picking on and protecting Dong Baek.
Well, and the murder mystery and mother storyline to be resolved. And if there is a time skip, to not have the problems solved in the time skip.
