Spotted with thick smoky makeup, ‘Man Man Ha Ni’ U-KISS who gained popularity through Kangnam (strong guy) dance returned with their 1st full album. U-KISS title track for this time is called ‘Bingeul Bingeul (Round And Round)’ and has skyrocketed into the #1 spot onto various charts soon after it was released.
U-KISS (Alexander, Kibum, Dongho, Soohyun, Eli, Kevin, Kiseob) is finally dropping out their 1st full album after 1 year and 6 months since they debuted on September 2008. On the recent interview with Newsen, U-KISS said “This 1st album is our blood and sweat”.
“We don’t know anything when we first started recording this full album. Time passed by and because it was the 1st album, we felt like we should do more (for the album). We sought for advices here and there. We thought that there are lots of things to be accomplished.”
“This (album) is very important after ‘Man Man Ha Ni’. I know that we can do better this time around” U-KISS explained with strong determination.
“The electricity continuously went out when we were shooting the music video. Things happened for a reason. It was because the electricity power supply was too weak but we like to take it as a sign of success. Then, a couple of days ago, we saw a male ghost in the practice room. We were practicing late at night when suddenly the practice room’s door opened and we heard a screaming voice before the door closed. Eli and Soohyun saw a dark shadow. At first we thought that it was manager hyung. But it wasn’t.”
The members spent 28 hours filming ‘Bingeul Bingeul’ MV. They drew tattoos on their body in order emphasize the image of tough men. U-KISS member said “At first, it (tattoo) was nicely drawn, but it constantly gets erased as we kept dancing and sweating. In the end, we have to do some modification with it. Because we really like it (the tattoo), we didn’t wash up after returning home and use blanket to cover it.”
U-KISS recently held a fan meeting in Korea and Japan. “We felt really happy although it was our first official fanclub inauguration in Korea. There were about 50 people came out during our ‘Not Young’ activities, but this time, there were so many of them. It was amazing! There were lots of people at our Japan fan meeting too. Compared to before, we gained lots of fans.”
Who is me most popular member in Japan? All members pointed to Kevin. “In Japan, most of our fans are mothers. They prefer those who look younger rather than the maturity. Soft and gentle (style) plays an important role to them.”
Eli and Kibum also are receiving a high popularity in Thailand due to the fact that they were starring in a drama there. Eli explained “Thai people likes people with white skin. Because of that, I intentionally avoid tanning my skin.”
U-KISS will have their first comeback stage on the February 5th broadcasting of KBS 2TV Music Bank. “We are so nervous. We felt the tense the most during the dry rehearsal. We saw lots of singers appearing on stage. People will applauded them when they did well. We would love to receive those kind of applause too.”
U-KISS has gone through a lot of hardships and taking down the hard road prior to the release of their 1st full album, has made a bold confession. “There are lots of powerful artists in the world of popular music, but we’re going to create our own ‘U-KISS’s color’. We will show our versatilities in many ways. We want to live up our name in the entertainment variety programs too. We received lots of attentions during ‘Man Man Ha Ni’, but this time, we want people to recognize each member’s face.”
Meanwhile, besides the title track ‘Bingeul Bingeul’, U-KISS’s 1st full album will also included the track that was revealed first ‘Without You’, ‘뭐라고 (What)’ as well as the remix versions of the tracks that were released before such as ‘Not Young’, ‘Talk To Me’ etc.
