PLOT: Cha Dal-Gun (Lee Seung-Gi) is a stunt man who dreams of becoming a world famous action actor. His career is floundering, while he tries to take care of his nephew as his guardian. His nephew takes a flight from Incheon to Morocco for a taekwondo exhibition, but the flight crashes. In Morocco, Cha Dal-Gun sees someone that was a passenger on the fatal flight. He becomes convinced that someone or some group sabotaged his nephew's flight.

Go Hae-Ri (Bae Suzy) is an NIS agent and is currently working undercover in the Korean embassy in Morocco. She is tasked by the embassy to help the bereaved families from the fatal flight. Cha Dal-Gun turns to Go Hae-Ri for help in finding the man he saw in Morocco who was a passenger on the flight. Soon, Cha Dal-Gun and Go Hae-Ri uncover a far darker and more sinister conspiracy than they expected.

I used to wonder what's so special about Lee Seunggi. Then "Vagabond" showed me that Lee Seunggi can carry a drama on his shoulders. The show is still giving me a hard time identifying who's on the good side I decided to give up and just watch each episode without much thoughts or expectations. It's better this way =)

I'm half way through episode 4 and while it's good, I'm definitely seeing a pattern that will bore me .... soon.

Hero gets a piece of info, info gets destroyed, action action action.

Repeat.

Repeat.

Repeat.

Are episodes 5-8 showing the same cycle?

Our hero can't catch a break. Always losing to the bad guys and we don't even know who he can trust which becomes really frustrating at some point.

And yeah...episodes 5 to 8 shows the same cycle with a bit of improvement. I see good acting, the production looks really expensive, gives me over-the-top action and heart-wrenching drama but very weak story line.

This is actually my current assessment, even Suzy is doing pretty well. I'm not sure I'll last much more without a decent story line, I tend to not like shows that are just frustration-porn (jerking around our suffering characters), but I recognize the quality for what it is. It's just not my story-line. I'll read spoilers when it's done. 😉

Maybe back to hotel del Luna or time to try extraordinary you.

I totally understand. It's hard to keep on watching when the story is really weak. Lee Seunggi's acting is what's keeping me hooked to watching this show. I saw some improvements on eo 8 so I continue to be hopeful. It's like the director and writer were given a very huge budget and given big stars to act on a drama that has a very simple plot.

I'm having lots of fun watching Extra-Ordinary You! If you want something light and funny, you should watch it =) its like...watching the storyline of extras from Boys Over Flowers or what's actually happening in their lives outside of the main story lol
