The bromance is so strong! Such beautiful friendship but also really heartbreaking. My heart breaks every time Yang Sejong cries as his emotional scenes are so convincing I cry with him.

Date: 2019-10-13 11:01 am (UTC)I've enjoyed other sageuks like Ruler (Master of the Mask), Rebel (Thief who stole the people), Moon Embracing the Sun, Sungkyunkwan Scandal, Moonlight Drawn by Clouds, and Empress Ki. "My Country" is just a different level. I've watched each episode like 2 to 3 times already lol its that interesting for me. I really hope it's able to maintain the good story telling but I'm positive it will. Yang Sejong, Woo Dohwan and Jang Hyuk are doing well. Some hardcore sageuk fans are saying that Yang Sejong and Woo Dohwan are not so good delivering their lines (something to do with their enunciation) but its not something that has affected how I view their acting. Kim Young-Chul as the general is sooooo imposing. I am at awe how he's able to do that on screen.
Ooopppps I've said too much. I just love this show!

Date: 2019-10-13 10:58 pm (UTC)great story + hot leads = win win for us all.
i do wish they would spend more time developing their female characters, esp hee jae who spends much of 3 & 4 just popping up where they need her to be. developing her relationship with the general's wife would've been interesting to see. they've also tossed yeon out the storyline by having her forget her brother so now we're looking at a straight up sausage fest. personally, i think that's a shame given how great both of those characters were in ep 1 & 2.

Date: 2019-10-14 02:24 am (UTC)Yep...this is going to be a sausage fest (the cast is 20% femaile). But I still believe that Hee Jae has an important role in the story. As for Yeon, I think they'll use her to have Hwi follow Nam Jeon's orders.
