not sure but SMT are their restaurant/supper club brand, I only know about them cuz thats where the Halloween part is held every year in seoul.

seems like they're just using the launch of SUPERM as a chance to intro other aspects of the SM brand to US press.

they're doing an alexa type thing but with idols as the voices and some other device development with one of the big telecom companies in SK. they debuted it a couple years ago at CES which is a big consumer technology trade show. I think Wendy or Irene are the first voice assistants but idt if it's gone to market yet
