Monsta X's english music is sf good. I wish the line distribution was better but the songs are still really great. I sent Who Do You Love to my friend and she loved it

It's a really good song! I just wish French Montana wasn't involved and the rap was given to I.M

like it's fine? it's such a plug and play US top 40 track literally anyone up and coming that's currently charting rn would sing it the same way and sound the same :/ I get that's what they're going for with the last two eng releases but seeing them remove everything that makes Monsta X memorable is idk a bit disheartening, glad they're doing a K-comeback soon.

like it's not even a progression as an artist kinda of thing it's "you need to change literally everything about you to get played in the blandest top 40 market in the world"

Yea they're definitely good songs, I replay them a lot and I like hearing jooheon singing! but the more they release the more apparent that for K-comebacks their KOR team understand who the group is and choose/direct songwriters to write with them in mind while their US A&R is giving them songs with the casual listener of top 40 radio in mind instead of curating stuff for the group themselves and their fans

I love their Korean stylists/aesthetics. Please keep that.
This was definitely a 90s throwback style-wise and Shownu’s tennis shoes with his red pants were so funny to me. I do like Wonho/Kihyun’s stylings here though.

I agree. While I actually really like their US releases, it’s not their sound/them (at least what their Korean sound has been crafted as). I hope their US album would have more of their color on the b-sides, and the singles are to give them enough traction to do something more in their wheelhouse. (Clearly I have a lot of thoughts about this 😬).
Super excited for their Korean comeback though. Very curious about the new era. 🤗

exactly, the strategy's understandable and I can't knock them for wanting to play it a bit safer in hopes of securing a good touring audience but it's just a bummer they have to do it by pretending they have no rap line (and theirs is one of the top 5 in kpop so it sucks even more for that reason). there's no excuse for them having french on who do you love spouting jumbled nonsense when IM is right there perfectly capable of spouting similar nonsense but at least I like him!!!

Seriously agree. IM and Jooheon are really, really good. I blame American radio’s dislike of rap songs and the moment rap appears, a huge chunk of radio won’t even touch it. This song I can see at least three or four local stations around me playing it. If they launched a US album/tour, I’d be curious to see what the set list would look like... would be a shame to abandon their Korean discography given how successful their previous tours have been here.
Hahah re jumbled nonsense. Would also prefer his nonsense over French’s too.

This better be an intro or something, there's no other reason for this to be this short.
It's nice and chill and I've been loving their English tracks, but honestly their Korean releases were what got me into them. They make me feel pumped and like I could go for a really long run and start kickboxing and crossfit or something lol. This doesn't give me that motivational burst of energy...

this is really cute, they sound good but i'm so tired of their english songs ngl. i enjoy them all but it removes everything i love about them and it has everything to do with their us team. they're doing a lot better in the us than many other groups yes but it's so frustrating to see how many shitty gigs their team gives them between the very few good ones.

it was announced they'd collab with sebastian yatra which is pretty cool and i thought this was going to be the collab, now i'm scared they'll use that song for their korean title track... or perhaps this song is shorter because there's a version with sebastian yatra too that they'll release?

i love how sperm got the big press while monsta x seemingly out of nowhere dropped a song that is so much more radio-friendly than jopping

They sound like their voices haven't changed yet.

How did they go from fetish-light costumes and vibrating pecs to 13 year olds? I like their American music a lot more than their Korean, but they don't really need to be this soft.

I loved Monsta X from way back when they first debut, this song doesn't feel anything like their Korean songs. The positive thing is I really liked this song, I can imagine it being played on the Radio here in the US. Their last English song I only heard once but this one could actually be played more! (At least I hope so!).

It's very agreable, radio friendly and I actually love it. Nice and wavy. They are doing a good job establishing themselves bit by bit.
