SONAMOO’s Nahyun And Sumin File Lawsuit Against TS Entertainment To Terminate Contracts

On September 23, it was reported that SONAMOO’s Nahyun and Sumin had sent a certification of contents to TS Entertainment to terminate their contracts back in May.

Reportedly, TS Entertainment refused to carry out the certification of contents and Nahyun and Sumin filed a lawsuit in August to affirm the non-existence of their exclusive contracts.

The legal firm in charge of the case confirmed the report to Star News and said that TS Entertainment had not yet responded to the filing. The lawyer added that Nahyun and Sumin will wait until the beginning of October for a response before pursuing other actions as determined by the court.

When asked for a statement, TS Entertainment responded, “We have confirmed that Nahyun and Sumin have filed a lawsuit against our agency claiming that our exclusive contract is non-existent. We will organize an official response as soon as possible.”

Meanwhile, TS Entertainment is already involved in a legal dispute with one of their former artists, Sleepy. The agency settled their lawsuit with another former artist, Jun Hyosung, earlier this year, but stated that they intend to pursue another lawsuit against her. The agency has also announced their intention to pursue legal action against Song Ji Eun, who terminated her contract with them in April.

they should be crowdfunding to recoup money already spent not to figure out what their budget is :/

i think that was the final straw for the girls tbh, just imagine how awful it must feel to have fans fund your comeback only for the company to basically steal/take that money away from you and use it for other stuff, i would feel soooo bad for the fans (and for my own group, of course lol)

Meanwhile Makestar still hasn't canceled/refunded the project that ended over a year ago. The last update was that they themselves were going to produce the rewards for us since the company wouldn't...They can't produce a new song or get us the signed album so we all paid for really expensive unofficial fangoods? Makestar needs to be bringing one more lawsuit for TS to enjoy.

I'm so mad about this whole thing bc Sonamoo are amazing and have so many great songs. They deserved better than this shit :(

We would like to thank fans of SONAMOO for the continued patience.

As we have notified our StarMakers and as SONAMOO's agency TS Entertainment had shown intent to create rewards, we were scheduled to start shipping the rewards by the end of August. However, we have been notified from TS Entertainment this morning that they "have not finished producing rewards, hence the schedule will be delayed" again.

However, we decided we can't just wait for the delay. We have requested TS Entertainment to relay all the contents necessary for producing the rewards and create the rewards on our own with our expenses.

This was a difficult decision to make, as there were many concerns and worries about MAKESTAR creating rewards since producing albums and rewards is a unique production of the agency. However, this decision was solely for StarMakers and fans who have supported and participated in the project.

We promise to share all the process from reward production to shipping process as soon as we receive the contents necessary for producing the rewards.

Sorry to Sonamoo fans but good for them. I hope their lawsuit goes well, they've got a lot less power than BAP/Secret but hopefully the history if lawsuits plus Sleepy's current one will bolster their defence.

Kinda surprised that it didn't happen sooner... I feel like they were going somewhere after I (Knew It) but nothing happened after that, and TS got way more interested in following Secret and BAP to court. I feel sad for the members who deserved a lot more than the shitshow TS is, and the fans who are still waiting for a Makestar that certainely won't happen now :(
