It’s obvious JYPE wants Itzy to do well internationally. Speaking of the US, they’re starting early instead of waiting too long like they did with Twice. That had a negative impact imo so getting international fans to follow them early on is the right choice.

My main gripe is I feel like these tickets should be cheaper since you’re paying to see a new group with only a few songs and plenty of covers (I’m assuming to flesh it out). I’m curious what they’ll cost

That’s true JYP was way more focused on making money from Japan, and they made the right choice since Twice makes sooooo much money from Japan lol. I’d choose that route too. I do think a bad mistake was JYPE taking wayyyy too long to get on streaming services. I know they have a better relationship with Apple and the songs were probably on there for some time, but idk if it was contracts or what but they took forever to get on Spotify. Meanwhile YG had Blackpink on Spotify almost immediately and it played a big part why they win the streaming game. Sure, Twice was never going to win over BP in that department, but they’d still get more attention through it that they could’ve gotten even earlier. BP also has an Instagram pretty fast too, I think Twice had to wait a little while for that too (not entirely sure). These are just some things that hindered Twice’s success in the US imo

I do think Itzy is to compete with BP, because even though Twice wins awards left and rights, is the best selling girl group, Korea’s #1 girl group....but if I were to ask people in general whose the top girl group, most will say Blackpink because of their streaming and YouTube success, plus their concert gigs this year. Itzy is probably JYP eyeing a whole new playing field to win (though it’s clear the company still prioritizes what works at home in Korea - because none of Itzy’s songs have the mass appeal Blackpink’s do. They have to step it up imo, it’s still quite kidz-boppy and I say that as a fan lol. They want to keep it still cute so they take off in Korea, but I feel like Itzy will struggle to make a large impact overseas, like Twice has)

That’s soooooo true. A lot Blackpink’s songs to me sound outdated (....cuz they are 😶) but their music is similar to the 2NE1 and Big Bang days so western fans eat it up. YG has always played the kpop game well in the west, whereas JYP’s attempts in the past has always been messy or inexperienced, like Wonder Girls... Hopefully now that the company is flourishing it’ll be ready to play for real this time.

Dalla Dalla’s remix is superior in every way! I enjoy the original but it collects dust now that the remix came out

It's entertaining to watch ITZY I'd like to go to their showcon but it will depend on how much the ticket prize is =) My kpop fan heart is so happy so many kpop acts are coming to our country. We just had Twice, N.Flying, EXO and going to have Momoland, Kim Jaehwan, Ha Sungwoon, Kang Daniel, Got7, Cha Eunwoo, SF9, Day6, Red Velvet, IU, Winner and Seventeen.

It’s really too early for them to be touring. But then Miss A had 2 comebacks before their fanmeets, so if Itzy can have another comeback it wouldn’t be a big issue
