They mentioned on Knowing Bros that they do everything, including teasers releases, in the order of the girls' age from oldest to youngest. I think fans are just going off of that.
she looks gorgeous! i can't believe that in korea she's considered the least pretty when all of twice are equally stunning and way above an average person in looks
k-pop idol beauty standards have really distorted people's perceptions if jihyo is considered to be "fat". if you look at korean girls in a show audience rarely are any of them as skinny as idols. it also doesn't help that k-pop idol stylists don't know how to dress more curvy idols. they always do jihyo and ailee so dirty
But she wasn't fat by any standards, like if you look at their final Sixteen stage she had thinner thighs than most of the other girls, her only fault was having bigger boobs and a rounder face. But it certainly didn't help that she was called fat by the staff on Sixteen <- idc what anyone says they're fucking bullies, and knetz jumped on the bandwagon cuz they just LIVE to drag girls.
If I were to begin talking about this shit I'd write an essay and it still won't be enough. I'm just glad that Twice seem to be gaining a little bit of weight every now and then, even if they're still thin by normal standards.
yeah unfortunately there's only one body type acceptable for female idols, so it made jihyo stand out, which you get hate for in k-pop. i didn't know about the staff on sixteen. that's messed up! it seems like on korean tv it's ok to make fun of others for their insecurities and it just shows that you're "close" with the person. it was too mean spirited for me though so i stopped watching korean variety shows
