Heechul & his mom join "My Ugly Duckling" as fixed cast and how the first episode went

Super Junior’s Kim Heechul and his mother made their first appearance on SBS’s “My Ugly Duckling”!

On the August 25 episode, Kim Heechul let out an awkward laugh as he introduced himself and his mother. He began, “This is my first time inviting my mom on a show after my debut. I’m getting nervous.”

He then asked his mom to brag about him, and she said, “He’s popular, has many fans, and I think I made him pretty handsome.” She jokingly added that there wasn’t much to compliment when it came to his personality.

In the studio, MC Shin Dong Yup asked, “What do you think about your son’s marriage [plans]?” She answered, “I want him to get married before he turns 40 years old. When I look at celebrities, it seems as if they turn 50 in an instant after they turn 40.” She added, “I want him to get married soon. I don’t like that he eats out.”

Shin Dong Yup then asked, “Do you trust your son?” and she replied, “I trust him. He knows many women, but doesn’t do other things.” Hearing this, Shin Dong Yup joked, “He knows an unbelievable amount of girls. An unbelievable amount.”

now see....this could very well come back to bite me in the ass...but i've said multiple times that Heechul doesn't seem all slimy/gross/whatever as so many want him to be. he's always had a lot of friends, men AND women, but because the focus is always on him being friends with this woman and that woman and wow this woman too, people seem to WANT him to be a creep. Heechul (and Hongki mind you) both admitted to being immature dicks when it came to dating in the past but people still find little yashimmanman clips to "prove their point".

anyway, it just irritates me that the dude can't openly show he's friends with a woman without there being drama. also Jimin is coming back and it kinda sucks that there probably won't be many(if any) interactions with Seung-Youn because Heaven Forbid! Oppa has non-male friends.....



i'm so stressed.

People think he's a creep because he always have something creepy to say, and almost always about young female idols. HOWEVER, because there are so many female idols who said that he is a nice guy, and that they trust him, it makes me hope that he's actually a good egg. With a big mouth.

Are the female idols who say they trust him his juniors? I don’t think they would really feel comfortable voicing their true opinion about him if they are his juniors. If the idols are on his level or even his seniors then i think that lends some credibility to his reputation

I don't think men can be trusted so hesitant to defend him or make an absolute statement about this but SNSD are one of the bigger gg artists that seem to trust him, Taeyeon especially, and she hasn't hesitated to address shitty behaviour of men towards female idols before. Not saying this means he can't be a creep but the amount of higher tier female idols that seem to be very comfortable around him makes me think that if he is sketchy he must be seriously evil because he seems to have a lot of women thinking he's "safe". I get the idea that he's playing his creepiness up for joke purposes (same with his giant weeaboo image) more than anything because even Sohee who he made some of his most sketchy remarks about at one point seems to be cool with him.

Some, yes, but not all. And they aren't directly bring asked about him, at least as far as I remember. The question would be general - a male celeb who you're close to, or a friend in the industry you can trust- or sth similar, and he's the only guy who's name come up often.
