PLOT: Jang Man-Wol (IU) is the CEO of Hotel del Luna. The hotel is situated in downtown in Seoul and has a very old appearance. She made a big error many years ago and, because of this, she has been stuck at Hotel del Luna. She is beautiful, but she is fickle, suspicious and greedy.

Koo Chan-Sung (Yeo Jin Goo) worked as the youngest assistant manager ever at a multinational hotel corporation. He is a sincere perfectionist. He looks level-headed, but he actually has a soft disposition. Due to an unexpected case, he begins to work as a manager at Hotel del Luna. The hotel's clientele consists of ghosts.

Another thing: I appreciate the fact that the 2 lead characters don't have as much a power imbalance we see in almost every other Korean romcom, especially when compared with Goblin which I feel HDL is pretty similar to. Manwol is a supernatural being and made a deal with Chansung's dad but it's not like Chansung was forced to work there or he needed the job at HDL – he's a successful hotelier with multiple good offers and Manwol eventually gave him the choice to leave (before he started) and he chose not to. The writers also gave Chansung leverage over Manwol (knowledge of her past) early enough in the story, which balances out her power over him.

You are spot on with that observation. The balance in characters is just right for me too.

On a different note, the old lady on the wheelchair seems to be PO's sister. Do you agree? If I'm not mistaken PO's waiting for his sister. And if she dies, I wonder if PO will also cross over.

man,, this drama is so good, HONG Sisters are back to form.
I feel Man Wol's pain, gosh. I loved the scenes were Chansung told her to protect him and went on to hug the curse ;____; I'm on the otp-train now.

Also I was pretty impressed by P.O.'s acting when he and Changsung talked about how they, as ghosts, could also disappear like that guest in nr. 13. His eyes, gosh, they showed such a great mix of emotions, felt really really genuine.

I didn't expect to like this drama as much as I do. Gotta give it to IU and Jin Goo for being A+ so far.
The overall love story might be a bit cliché and so on but each episode brings smth new.
Don't know how they're gonna keep the main story interesting for another 8 episodes though.

That was INTENSE. The scene with Man Weol and Mira at the entertainment park..... IU blew me away, that was unnerving. Man Weol gets a proper backstory and its gruesome and messy and emotional and ugh I needed that.

My heart was hurting so much from that scene til the end of episode 8. IU and Jin Goo were so good they made me so sad and felt so much hurt. But I love them for being so good here.

Just finished ep 9 chan sung is so afraid of losing man wol 😭😭😭😭😭😭 me too son. That ending was beautiful tho
And now we got this serial killer on the lose looking for chan sung... protect him!
