Soyeon shares thoughts on T-ARA's 10th anniversary + currently working on a solo album

Soyeon thanked T-ARA and her fans for caring and loving her over the past decade on her SNS account at 10:10 a.m. on Monday to mark the 10th anniversary of the group's debut.

Since her debut on July 29, 2009, Soyeon has been loved by the public as T-ARA's main vocalist. This is the 10th anniversary of Soyeon's debut, but the meaning of the 10th anniversary of T-ARA's debut is much greater personally.

Soyeon said, "I wanted to celebrate this 10th anniversary with six members, but I'm sorry it didn't work out. However, I would like to be with six of us if we can get a chance to greet our fans again as T-ARA." She added, "I'm working on a solo album after 10 years of my debut. You'll be able to hear it soon. And I'm working hard to greet my fans and the public with good music."

I'm so extremely grateful, i have been with t-ara the full 10 years. Time passed so quickly and i have always continued to support them, even throughout hard times. Recently i'm listening a lot to T-ara's Don't Leave and i keep thinking how much i miss Soyeon's powerful voice. I'm so pleased with her announcement. I will always wait for OT6.

Has it been ten years? Oh my. MBK's general fuckery and the bullying scandal has, in the long term, taken away alot of attention from their solid discography and the talent of their members. Definitely one of the most underrated girlgroups of the past decade. The original six seemed to be really close friends too. Happy anniversary ladies :)

aren't they still appreciated in China and SEA? I remember they would go to perform there even after the scandal. I thought that it was just in Korea that they were shunned even though male idols have made comebacks from worse scandals

yes they are! especially in vietnam, i always see tons and tons of vietnamese fans commenting on t-ara stuff, they are probably missing t-ara the most out of SEA
this is probably also why soyeon is planning on fanmeetings in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Vietnam, and Thailand, but not in korea for example

I’m so glad they’re still getting support overseas but it’s unfortunate that they can’t really get support in their home country. How much time already has passed and they still have to be hesitant about performing in korea :/

yes, i absolutely agree, though hyomin's EP allure sold >10K, which is only slightly lower than sketch (>11K).

i think especially soyeon's done with korea, not only because of the bullying scandal and the bad treatment MBK gave her/them, but i remember when she had an accident and she injured her back, she still went to perform but in a bad shape and people criticized her a lot about it (the accident wasn't covered in the news much, MBK kept it low idk why), telling her she was lazy, losing her touch etc. and it really messed her up more, which was super sad. I remember especially towards the end of her contract she started looking really sad. When you look on her instagram these days you can tell she's a lot happier, she looks so much better, the break and time away from the industry has really done her well and i can see why she wants to go to SEA where she gets love in stead of Korea tbh, it would also have left a bad taste in my mouth
but i agree, it's all so unfortunate :(

ugghh I hate MBK so much. first, they try to sow discord among the girls and make them fight with each other to increase "competitiveness" but as a result it just ends up negatively impacting their teamwork, and then they try to break soyeon mentally. can MBK be investigated legally for abusive practices like 9muses' company?

i don't think MBK ever did physical abuse, but mental abuse? definitely.. there are a lot of examples but sadly in SK it's not something you can make a case out of
and the girls want to leave it behind them now, i'm glad they resolved it with their T-ara name, which was a real d/ck move from MBK.
i am glad they can move forward now and leave it behind and focus on the good in stead of the bad. at least MBK isn't big enough to block them from broadcasting stations, thank god because i'm SURE their CEO would do that if he could

yeah you're right that mental abuse is still not taken seriously in many places unfortunately but it's definitely lucky that MBK doesn't have that influence because if they did I can imagine they would be like SM or even worse

maybe, i think it mostly depends on boram
she has been pretty quiet and absent these days, maybe she just needs a long break or maybe she's just done with the whole industry, it's hard to tell at this point
but i'm happy they are at least all on such friendly terms, so lets just keep hoping and asking for it, who knows, maybe a special reunion some day in the future, it would be so lovely

Those girls have seen it all tbh. I do remember that their scandal with one of the girls taking her clothes off on a video was what made me quit kpop for some time. It was just too heartbreaking seeing people so mean to them when really, they were the victims. I never cared much for them but they gave us awesome bops tbh.

they have constantly released bops, and they've seldom disappointed with their songs. It's a pity there are some obstacles (probably legalities) to ot6 reuniting, but I'm glad they've been mentioning each other constantly. the scandal really rocked them, but hey at least they've survived out of it and the members became closer.

T-Ara was truly too good for the kpop world...we didn't deserve them. All of their songs were bops and they came out with the best music videos. I'm still so upset about the scandal and how it killed the group. SMH I miss them so much
