Well, that was an experience. I can see this being a marmite type of song where you either love it or hate it, but I kind of guessed it would be before I even heard it when I saw that jyp produced it lol.
For me, the song structure was weird and took me a while to get used to, but i soon just went along with it. It’s a pretty fun song and has a great empowering message, which I prefer over songs about love or whatever. I don’t think I like it as much as I liked Dalla Dalla, but this mv is MILES better. The editing, the outfits, and the solo shots were all cute and fun. Chaeryeong and Yuna REALLY shine here.
This is one of those songs where I think the live performances will make me like the song more, so I’ll hold off further opinion until I watch the choreo in action. From the snippets we see here, it looks great!
Hmmmmmmm I have thoughts. Trashy bops are great so I like this in that sense. The b-sides especially sounded great so excited about those.
On a related note, so far I feel like alot about ITZY (from their name to the songs and the vocals) is just.... low quality? Like JYP just puts the bare minimum effort in to bring us something nice. Twice already had symptoms of this but with ITZY its.... everywhere. Idk I like them but it just doesn't feel like anyone is really trying to achieve anything???
I love the MV and the lyrics! I love that their brand image is all about confidence in their title tracks so far, and while the MV isn’t super interesting in theory - all the girls shine in some way and it makes the video way more fun to watch
My only disappointment is the chorus is rather bland. The buildup with the verses and the bridge is so good! And then the chorus comes and I’m like ....oh. I’m glad it wasn’t a beat drop lmao but JYP is known for catchy choruses, idk what happened. But I feel like it’ll grow on me Edit: yea it’s growing on me already lol

Weird song lol. but it sounds more cohesive than Dalla Dalla, which I hated but it grew on me. The blah blah bit is irritating but I think I will be bopping after hearing it a few times. I wish they said the icy piece in the chorus!
Absolute trash. Why is JYP wasting these girls' performance skills on these $2 kidz bop tryna be badass tracks.The only highlight is the prechorus and the choreo.
Honestly, I only wish the 'I see that I'm icy' was in all the choruses and just had an extra long refrain of it for the last one but I'm not mad at this
hate the mv but love the song. it's loud, fun and catchy! every yuna line is a++++ and i have high hopes for choreo. also i gotta add that i really like the lyrical direction of their songs. not as perfect as dalla dalla but they still feel refreshing enough for me. full focus on girls and confidence, yes, thank you.
Well, this MV has better flow and editing and no out-of-place product placement, so there's that I guess. It really sucks that these girls keep get rubbish songs when they're such good performers with great energy.
Lia has the best grasp on English but honestly each member knows some English. I remember in that JYPE 2.0 promo video they highlighted lessons, so it’s probably a priority for newer groups to know more than just Korean
JYP be like: let’s get a perfect set of talented girls, a good and age appropriate concept, one good enough production and outfits (I will ignore the teasers) and give them a wonky unfinished song. sigh there are some parts that I really like and enjoy but that’s exactly what makes me barely listen to a song, the lack of continuity and flow. I will still enjoy their performances, bc they’re great and deserve the whole world.
I feel that way for Itzy and Dreamcatcher - (even though I enjoy it) is their music for everyone? No lol. But they put on a show, you can’t deny that! Their live performances are worth it

I like the message and styling, and the dance looks great! Idk how I feel about the all random foreigners. I wish the song itself was a bit more melodic, the instrumental sounds overstuffed.
I been aged out of K pop but like this is very “We are made for Disney” in terms of vibe. Like I felt old watching this. Song is meh. It has the opposite problem Dallax2 had for me: Better verses but a weak chorus. The performances are probably gonna be great from the bits we have seen. I will say that they basically teased the dance to show as little of it as possible for what amounted to be a basic look and pose video. If a large part of your group’s selling point is being majority dance driven...please show that. Anyway it’s eh, but not unlikable. I do wish there were more “traditional pop elements” though.
This is WAY more cohesive than Dalla Dalla and I still liked that song. The dance break was my favorite part so I know they’re going to kill this live. Everyone is right Yuna really was charismatic with this one. If jyp invests properly with these girls they really can go far.
the MV is too much in the worst ways. overly ambitious with no real direction, the editing and animation saves it.

ITZY's going the same route as twice where they're establishing a specific sound early on and wont mess around with the formula for a few years (at least on title tracks). the songs production is actually pretty well done for how cacophonous it is, it's definitely better strung together than zimzalabim (which is the closest comparison for gg releases rn).
ZZB is an atrocity. I think not even the worst song ever has to be compared to it. I’m sorry, I had to empty my chest. lol I will just erase it, Rookie, Power Up and RBB from Red Velvet discography.
sorry bbs it's just not catchy and the MV looks nice but is very disjointed/empty. All the girls are great dancers though so I anticipate the live stages to carry the song better
