Lee Dong Gun In Talks To Star In Korean Remake Of U.S. Series “Leverage”

Lee Dong Gun may be starring in an upcoming remake of TNT’s “Leverage”!

On July 5, Lee Dong Gun’s agency FNC Entertainment confirmed that the actor was in talks for the leading role of TV Chosun’s new remake of the American drama series.

A representative of the agency stated, “Lee Dong Gun has received a casting offer for the Korean version of the drama ‘Leverage,’ and he is currently reviewing the offer with a favorable outlook.”

“Leverage,” which ran from 2008 to 2012 in the United States, followed a former insurance investigator who led a team of thieves and con artists in pulling elaborate scams on the wealthy and corrupt.

Lee Dong Gun has been offered the starring role of the former insurance investigator (played by Timothy Hutton in the original series). The upcoming remake will reportedly be helmed by Nam Ki Hoon, the director behind OCN’s “Voice 3.”

The Korean version of “Leverage” is currently scheduled to air sometime in September.





I loved Leverage so much and I'm so ughhhh about this casting.

Hmmm. I only know him from the recent Angel show and he lacked the Everyman pathos and sensibility of Hutton in that role.

But it's an ensemble show and a good ensemble is always fun.

l i t e r a l l y my most favourite and beloved TV show of all time (also my first TV fandom experience so it means SO MUCH to me) and knowing they're going to prettify this show into something unrecognisable is... idk. how do I watch this without wanting to criticise every aspect of it???

Parker is THE MOST precious character and no one can ever come close to Beth Riesgraf's performance...... but I could accept Nana in the role y/n?

Back in the day i used to comment in posts here using gifs and sometimes i would use Leverage gifs and you would always comment on them, so i got used to remembering you as Omona's Spica and Leverage stan. I hope that's okay =)

The original series was such a nice mix of a little bit of everything, and I feel like that this Korean remake will go full on serious drama and i won't like it.
