There's also a Korean fan who pointed out lots of suspicious things. An i-fan translated it on twitter. I will just link it, because it's quite long, but it goes into a lot of detail on which shows/appearances were apparently canceled. They also talk about the CEO of the company who is the son of the trot singer Tae Jinah!?

What is happening?? How true is this ban? I thought her split from YMC Ent was amidable, since there were articles about them helping her out with her album even when she wasn't signed with them anymore.

it's completely possible but I feel like it has more to do with her now being managed by a former YMC CEO than it being about her.

the fact that she let her old agency help with her new album was a big red flag pre-release and this is all within their power, as twisted as it is with them having some ownership over the material.

it entangles them in how her music is used and marketed which includes given the greenlight to be performed on shows. they aren't doing anything illegal by blocking her because of that.

Wouldn't that depend on the circumstances, like what help they actually rendered? The contract?

I'm not doubting you, so much as I lack a knowledge base in this area and I like to see the written details. Not that you have them either, but the when they say they helped with the album that is vague enough that I'm just like "in what way?"

It’s just a very record label thing to do, to be petty like this, so I assume since she was able to go on hello counsellor but not perform on music shows that her ability to perform/her image and stage name clearances are being messed with.

If you’re going to split from your agency you rly need to make it a hard split and not involve them because you let them have any part in your future work and they’ll find a way to weasel their way into every aspect.

Obvi I don't Korean law but this would give rise to a cause of action in the US so is it something hee old company would risk?

iirc I think YMC is connected to CJ E&M in some way? I am not totally sure because Wanna One was under YMC then moved to Swing ENT which CJ invested in. And CJ owns A LOT of stuff (mnet and tvn just to name 2 big channels off the top of my head) and has a lot of power so maybe it's them pulling the strings?

i was wondering why she wasn't performing on music shows. i hope it's not true that her company is blocking her from performing. i wouldn't be surprised though since it seems like a common thing for companies in k-pop

Also what ever happened to her connections in the US music industry? I think i remember there being rumors of her debuting in the States and some producer was interested in her. Didn’t she attend the Grammys too or a Grammys related event? If the company is blocking her it might turn out to be a long legal battle like JYJ so at least then she would have a backup
