TWICE’s Mina will be absent from an upcoming event that the group is participating in for Pocari Sweat.

On July 5, TWICE’s agency shared the following statement:

Hello. This is JYPE.

This is an announcement that TWICE member Mina will be absent from the event noted below due to health reasons.

– Pocari Challenge Teen Festa (July 7)

Her absence was inevitably decided as the judgment was made that rest and appropriate measures are necessary for the health of the artist. Regarding the sudden news of her absence, we ask for the understanding of fans who have been looking forward to this event.

If there are additional schedule changes, they will be revealed through future announcements.

We will focus our full effort into Mina’s quick recovery.

We once again thank fans for your understanding.

They're giving her three days. But I;m pretty fucking sure it's not enough since she was sick for a while now, and has a knee problem they are yet to address.

Ohh thanks for the additional info! I thought it was just for that particular event. It’s messed up that they made her fly that day even though fans could tell she wasn’t feeling well at the airport. I hope it’s not a chronic problem or illness. I can’t imagine her handling the idol life with a chronic condition. It seems like you basically have to be an athlete to withstand the idol life but without the proper rest and rejuvenation that athletes get. Im also kinda worried after reading about that DIA member that the knee issue could be due to malnutrition but we’ll see if those days off help her recover.

Malnutrition.. this is something I've not seen a single person in the fandom discuss, they don't even want to think about it and I kinda understand why. Tho not all knee problems are the same, and I'm not about to say this is what Mina has, but tbch Mina has always caught my eye in the worst way possible. Cuz whenever I see the other members enjoying a meal, Mina would almost always be on the side doing something else, or she'd take a bite which she will chew on for hours. I don't know.. I just hope it's my overactive imagination making me see things, or blowing this out of proportion..

Tho you'd think her being a ballerina for 11 years would prepare her for hard work and no eating. But then again maybe she's used to that and it's the constant flying she's not used to.

It could very well be a condition left over from her ballet days but with how female idols are expected to be below 50kg by their companies no matter their height and metabolism i wouldn’t be surprised if it’s led to other issues. I just hope those few days will help her and it’s not a chronic condition

everytime a member has health issues jyp let's them sit out of an event/schedule and then makes them attend the next one and so on..wasn't it tzuyu or momo that had to do the same thing a while ago? jyp released a statement and everything but fans were like "she was there at the next one" (it was either a recording or a fansign)???

don't act like your artists' health is a priority when you overwork,underfeed, and devote hours and thousands of dollars to break down and mold them.......


i hope they at least take her to the hospital while she has the time...and not for a quick shot and a pat on the back either....

it's ridiculous how much they work these girls...the latest video of them i saw had 6~7 members and the formations were so strange...jyp needs to at least start doing rotating units if they honestly are so money hungry they can't give the group a break as a whole...rotate their breathing time...

Bitches let her travel to Japan where she was helped through the airport by the other members. She was so unwell for a while now that she was literally crying on stage. She probably collapsed on their MS's dressing room or something, cuz their announcement came a few hours before the performance, and she was there until the sudden announcement.

I saw fans "thanking" JYP for giving her a few days off, but FUCK THEM! She was unwell for more than a week now and they didn't allow her to rest. She's been struggling with a knee injury since before Fancy's comeback and they didn't allow her to rest. They're only giving her days off because they have too (they have a concert in three days) and not out of the goodness of their hearts.

to think the girls have a brutal schedule ahead of them, with long hours of flying from one country to another.. this is gonna get ugly :/
