Omona's Pick: 2019 2nd Quarter Kpop Favorites

Can you believe we're almost halfway through the year already? It's time to look back at our favorite Kpop releases during the second quarter of 2019 (April-June). Feel free to talk about your favorites including but not limited to:
- title songs or b-sides
- MV/visual concept
- live performances
- choreography
- etc.
You can rank them or just list them randomly. Maybe there are also a few first quarter releases that you still enjoy or those you discovered belatedly - there are a few of those for me.

Here are my personal favorites:

Chungha - Snapping
Gotta Go was a Q1 favorite of mine and she makes my list again this time. Snap at me, queen!

Newkidd - Tu Eres
One of my favorite nugu boy groups at the moment, this was their official debut after a few pre-releases.

Chancellor - Angel (feat. Taeyeon)
A simple but very soothing song.

A.C.E - Do It Like Me
They came back with the rock-infused banger Under Cover which I also enjoy, but this b-side stole my attention. I like how the beat changes constantly and keeps me on my toes.

Honorable mention:

Sohlhee - Purple (feat. NCT Taeil)
This was actually released at the very end of Q1. Never thought I'd like a song described as trap soul this much.

Yukika - Neon
A bunch of people mentioned this in the Q1 favorites post so I checked it out, and I have been hooked ever since. The lyrics "I just wanna be alone" felt like they were written for me.

Sole has a lovely voice. Unfortunately I haven't loved her newer releases as much as I adore her debut single Ride, I definitely recommend that one if you haven't checked it out.

Fave title tracks: Twice's Fancy, BVNDIT's Dramatic, G-Idle's Uh Oh. My favourite bops from this quarter, Cherry Bullet's Really Really and Weki Meki's Picky Picky get honorable mentions.

Title track that grew on me: RV's Zimzalabim. The first half of the song is still a bit meh but I actually love when the bass and dance sections come in.

Best b-side: Izone's Hey Bae Like It and Highlight I replayed to death. RV's Sunny Side Up!!!!!!! And anything on WJSN's summer mini was tons better than Boogie Up. NCT127's Jet Lag.

Favourite rookies: BVNDIT

Best mv: Chungha's Snapping. Simply stunning.

Worst mv: Red Velvet. Ugly ugly u g l y. Gross styling.

Overall, I think Q1 had more exciting releases for me than Q2. I did end up rediscovering NCT and especially NCT127 though, so that opened a whole new world of good music for me.
