the disclaimer in the beginning made me expect a lot worse but the mv ended up being really tame and not scary at all. always gonna side-eye mental illness plot lines like this though. i get what they were going for and that she's kinda speaking from experience but i still would've preferred a different direction since i know she doesn't suffer from did herself so it still feels inauthentic and exploitative. also a bit of a cheap cop-out/way to resolve the multiple sullis plotline. this has been done to death.

anyway, the song itself i like a lot. the whole single album is really good. i should've included the other two songs in this post but i guess i'll make a seperate one.

I can agree with the DID ‘plot’ was really unnecessary, and with SM having a piss poor reputation in how they take care of idols dealing with mental illness, this is not a good look

I like the song and her album overall, it has a mood I do particularly enjoy. I do wish the MV and song had more of a creepy element like the teasers implied- like BEG’s Jea’s also let me down in this regard, but I do like Goblin quite a bit regardless

I like the song but i agree with how DID was used in an insensitive way just to show she has different sides to herself. They could have spent more time to think of something else, so this was a lazy concept . And if you’re going to go through with this concept then at least stick to it and commit to it all the way but they didn’t even do that. It was more superficial and just showed off different clothing styles rather than personalities. Now i’m wearing a frilly dress, now i’m wearing a tattered black dress or sitting at a table with a bunch of girls that look nothing like me. There’s no plotline, acting or actions to actually show different types of behavior and attitudes. I did like the cinematography of the video but maybe next time SM can try more with her.

I think there are a lot of cool references here (Goblin, the candles) but also a lot of ambiguous stuff that could be seen as insensitive to mental illness. "I just want to end it" has a lot of meanings in English and I can't tell the intent of the original Korean - end the appearance of the other Sullis? End her life? End her "immortal life" - is this another Goblin reference? Why is she in a wheelchair?

I think you can make a video about the different "sides" of someone's personality or the true self without it being a reference to mental illness, but given that disclaimer at the beginning and the opening I don't think that's what's happening here (there's no such disclaimer at the beginning of Sunmi's Siren and that's not the vibe I got from that video). So it seems like they were going for the mental illness angle here.

I like the song, though, and the third Sulli has my favorite costume.

I skipped the whole first minute. I'm here for a music video.

It went from super creepy (with the tinkering bells) to regular pop. I'm not a fan of the breathless voice in songs. so overall the song is not for me.

But I'm happy for her fans who get this after so long.
