On May 29, KBS’s “9 O’Clock News” reported additional details about the allegations against Yang Hyun Suk regarding prostitution meditation.
According to KBS, the police have launched an internal investigation in the wake of the allegations, and they obtained testimony from someone involved with YG confirming that adult entertainment workers were present at the dinner in question.
On May 27, MBC’s investigative journalism program “Straight” aired an episode about Yang Hyun Suk’s alleged involvement in soliciting prostitutes. In July 2014, Yang Hyun Suk and PSY reportedly met with wealthy Thai and Malaysian investors at an upscale restaurant in Gangnam where around 10 adult entertainment workers were present at the dinner. The report stated that sexual services were provided to these foreign investors.
KBS’s new report, however, quotes a source saying, “It’s true that Yang Hyun Suk called women from adult entertainment establishments. Women from not just one, but many, adult entertainment establishments were brought out.”
The source continued, “But if there were sexual relations, they happened naturally, as far as I know,” and denied that there were any paid sexual services.
YG Entertainment previously denied claims by MBC’s report and said that although Yang Hyun Suk was present after being invited by an acquaintance, there was no solicitation of sexual services. Malaysian businessman Jho Low also denied any involvement in MBC’s initial reports.
PSY released his own statement saying that he’s friends with Jho Low, was invited to attend the dinner along with Yang Hyun Suk, and that he and Yang Hyun Suk left after drinking and eating.
Yang Hyun Suk reportedly emails YG employees and denies involvement in prostitution mediation
On May 27, MBC’s investigative journalist program “Straight” aired an episode about Yang Hyun Suk’s alleged involvement in prostitution solicitation from the past. The program reported that in July 2014, several high-ranking figures from YG Entertainment accompanied two wealthy Southeast Asian investors to an upscale restaurant in Korea, where prostitution services were provided. In response, Yang Hyun Suk’s side denied the allegations.
Three days later, YG gave out a second statement about the allegations. A source from the agency stated to YTN Star on May 30, “Yang Hyun Suk only attended after being invited. It is not true that he called adult entertainment workers. We sincerely ask that you take extra care to prevent speculative reports that are not the truth from being published, distorted, or reproduced.”
On the same day, Yang Hyun Suk reportedly sent out an email to YG employees addressing the reports. Yang Hyun Suk stated in the email, “First of all, I need to let everyone know how sorry I am. I am ashamed for causing you to worry due to the recent broadcasts [about me].”
He continued, “The day after the broadcast aired was the second anniversary of my father’s passing. I had to travel to the countryside, so I didn’t have time [to respond to the reports].”
Yang Hyun Suk added, “The allegations that were made during the May 27 broadcast [of ‘Straight’] are absolutely not true. I’ve never done anything illegal that the broadcasting station is arguing that I did nor anything that you wouldn’t be proud of. I believe that the truth will come out to the world soon.”
“YG was able to continuously grow for the past 23 years because of all of your hard work that you put towards your dreams and your exceptional creativity. I’m in a position where I’m obligated to protect that,” continued Yang Hyun Suk.
“About a month ago, YG went through a large-scale reorganization and announced its will and plans for the future. In addition, I’ve also shared my desire that as the executive producer, I want to focus solely on [creating] contents that will help [YG] artists from behind the scenes.” Yang Hyun Suk concluded, “I still hold on to that heavy responsibility.”

Even if they are not sure how deep it goes, wouldn't they at least be minorly aware of what happens at company events? And their CEO was a shady asshole from the start anyway.
