Not sure if this was really her coming out, but she's been waving the rainbow flag at every concert here in europe and is just so much more comfortable on stage than in Korea.

While some could interpret this to mean she's simply being an ally (which is still a big deal), she clearly seems to be referring to herself as LGBT by using the term as a personal identifier. Her English also seems too fluent for it to be an ESL (English as a Second Language) mistake.

Last christmas, I was home from college and I was minding my own business in my room and my sister (who I rarely see because she's a mess) and two of my cousins burst into my room and ask me if I'm a lesbian simply because I've never had an interest in dating throughout my 21 years of life. my cousin proceeded to tell me that a lot of my extended family also thinks that I'm a lesbian and that her and her mom have made bets about me on that front.

I'm sorry that I more interested in my education than dating crappy guys that have no direction????????????

I feel like I'm a little snowflake for having this opinion but I'm tired of ppl pushing a sexual orientation on the celebrities they like. I feel like most ppl who do it aren't even lgbt themselves tbh? Maybe I'm too sensitive since I'm myself deep in the closet yet have been outed against my will multiple times because I 'look like a lesbian' (and it just happens that I am) and giving the 'LGTB king/queen' titles to ppl who are most likely straight/do the bare minimum. Like i don't know, my point of view is that straight celebrities like Sunmi who wave the flag during their concert have no problem doing so because they're not LGBT themselves and therefore don't feel the same pressure/don't really get the importance of what they're doing? I don't know if what I'm saying make sense lmao.

Anyway, any celebrities coming out in SK would literally doom their career into non-existence and could be banned from certain tv channels simply for existing, do you think anyone would be dumb enough to imply they're bi during an interview with some no-name radio shows when idols dating is still considered a 'scandal'?

I made a tweet about this myself and deleted it but I felt like with that whole speech thing she was queerbaiting to an extent?? Bc I have no doubt she has been well aware of her LGBT base and her status as “lgbt queen” of kpop. Personally...........I feel like.... I don't believe her tweet.... but I also don't really care? It isn't my business.

Also, if she is closeted, Korea is weird and much more comfortable with people being in a grey area. I think her vocal support and the dance practices she did that were super gay may just be pandering, but I also think it's important and helpful, and why would she risk even that if she didn't actually care? Also, If she is gay/bi, I think it's understandable that she is content in denying it. Coming out [edit: is hard enough] as a non-celebrity and only effects your small network of acquaintances, and you can easily branch out and find new friends who will support you. Other peoples opinions are easier to avoid and don't affect you /as much./ But as a celebrity.... even if there's a huge amount of support, millions of people are watching and thousands upon thousands of people are not going to be happy with it. Sponsorships can be lost, networks can reject you, etc. Ideally we would be happy with someone saying "fuck it" and just being open, as that would be iconic and impactful, but shes just ONE person...... and that's a lot to mentally take on?

Anyway, I am rambling, but I am not really bothered by this and appreciate the support.
