(G)I-DLE To Make Japanese Debut

(G)I-DLE will be debuting Japan this summer!

On May 20, Cube Entertainment confirmed that (G)I-DLE will make their official debut in Japan on July 31 with their debut mini album “LATATA.” First, the group will perform a debut showcase in Tokyo on July 23, where they’ll be meeting their Japanese fans.

(G)I-DLE made their debut in May 2018 with their debut track “LATATA” and quickly achieved success, accomplishing feats such as taking home their first music show trophy only 20 days after their debut. They have since released the digital single “HANN” and their second mini album “I Made” featuring the title track “Senorita.”

i scrolled so fast down the omona feed that I read part of the post before this one about a group disbanding, and then right below that "(G)I-DLE)" and my tired brain mixed it all up together and I just about shat my soul out in panic before I realized that no, it's two separate posts, and (G)I-DLE is not disbanding. I like them, but I hope they can improve their performances. Rn it's Soyeon hard carrying, then Soojin and maybe Yuqi doing alright and the rest just kinda being there.

i'm skeptical about this just based off of how CLC's JP release trajectory went, lol. 2 mini albums and then nothing for just about 3 years and counting. 😬 i am interested in hearing "latata" in japanese, tho.
